Rononvan's Weekly Haiku Challenge

Unforgettable…

This week Ronovan has given us ‘flag and fallen’ to use in honour of Prince for his weekly haiku challenge.  Here’s my take:

Momentous memories flag through minds
listening to eclectic, musical and Princely chords
of a fallen, unforgettable Star.

My Thinking Corner

Tuesdays Trickles…My thinking corner 24

Every Tuesday, I share snippets of thoughts that I call ‘My Thinking Corner.’

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple. You can check this link for more details.

I realised that sharing so many snippets at once might actually not add as much value because the centre of focus oscillates between so many things, so I’m narrowing it down and dwelling on a snippet at a time to create better value.

Burden:

♦ Until we can truly lay down our burdens, our load will not be light.

♦ A load carried on the head, should not be carried in the heart.

When we learn to trust the Lord with our excess baggage, we are truly lightened of its nagging weight. It’s a process that might take the time to understand, but it’s a process worth applying to ones’ life.

Beautiful thoughts come your way from two awesome and inspiring blogger friends of mine:

Open your eyes and look: Dehan’s message is surely one to start the day with.

Follow the leader: Rosema knows how to deliver sweet and succinct messages. I like this.

I hope that you find these little drops useful now and again. Do check them out and please share snippets of your thoughts with us.

Thanks and blessed be.

Memories are made of these…Every day beautiful people 56

“We didn’t realise we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun.” unknown

“Childhood is the most beautiful of all life’s season.” unknown

Memories_1[1] Memories_2[1]

When I watch children play, there’s a lightness that I feel witnessing their guileless laughter, chuckles and innocence. Most people’s treasured memories are the delightful memories of their childhood.

The childhood season is a short one, let’s make timeless treasured memories for our children.

Mesmerize me with the harmonious flow of your words,

that drops from your pale glossy lips,

that I may drink in each syllable,

to nourish and satisfy the deep yearn within.

The Daily Post

Flayed heart…

Always earnest, you’re to say sorry,
but your blood drawn flaying words
are deeply engraved and
fail to be erased from a mind
that’s no longer blissfully blank
nor free of such vituperations.

Place I used to know: We should all indulge in this as often as we possibly can. Worth the while.

Introduce Yourself: There’s nothing like getting to know people in your circle a bit better. It builds a better sense of community.

Not for me the wives social circle: Quite an interesting read and this is my comment:

Yep! Getting on well with your life is the best way absolutely. You were and still remain an individual and in interesting one with or without a man. I would hate it if someone prefixes my identity with that of being with my husband. I am me and then we are we. Likewise, he is also first himself, before being my husband. I like how you’ve formed your own circle that best suits you.

Didgeridoo and the lady too: Never seen this instrument before. Interesting! I had to google it.

Short Stories

The Golden Chalice…

It was a foolproof plan. Drake had it neatly figured out.

He knew the Cathedral like the back of his hand, after all, the years working in the Chaplaincy are not going to waste even though he left his coveted job in a bit of a huff.

Dipping his fingers in the offering coffers for a little helping didn’t seem to agree with the Bishop but no matter, this plan would surely set him up for life.

As he lowered Bob through the ceiling’s vault an unholy gust of air set off the Cathedral chimes and a surprising shrill alarm startled both men so much that the rope slipped from Drake’s hands and they went crashing down into the gallery.

Dodgy Drake and his accomplice were apprehended by the police in short order. Bob was unconscious, while petrified Drake was trying to crawl and hide behind one of the statues of the Saints. His broken limbs made his escape attempt difficult.

Their ambition to rob the Cathedral of the golden Chalice, shiny Madonna and other prized artifacts was nipped in the bud.

Friend or Foe…Mundane Monday

Mundane Monday challenge is created to find beauty in almost everything.

The challenge is simple : find beauty in everyday mundane things, capture the beauty and upload the photographs.

Moth[1]

The friendly Moth on the window pane came flitting by to say hello where I sat outside having a bit of chill time with my daughter who was filling my ears with school stuff.

My girl squealed and took off so fast you would think the moth is a foe. We are all differently cut out.

Interestingly, she can stare at vile snakes (at the zoo) that mere thoughts of them gives me the heebie-jeebies, while a Moth gives her the shivers 🙂

I had to fish out facts about Moths to teach her that they are harmless.

“May no gift be too small to give, nor too simple to receive, which is wrapped in thoughtfulness, and tied with love.” L. O. Baird

Open_it[2]

It was so amusing to watch the little girl reason her mother into opening the gift immediately. I know her feeling, especially on Christmas eves.

I literally have to hold my two hands from tearing into my presents. Between me and my children, I don’t know who’s more eager. My dear Himself is always the calm and collected one which it comes to present matters 🙂

P.S. Did you manage to get in for the blog party? If you haven’t it’s still live and you can peek inside this link.

Blessed be.
