A View From The Window

I am still trying to figure out what the quality of this photo is that just makes me absolutely love it.

I looked out of the window one evening and there they were; two ladies standing so close together, no other person or vehicles are in sight which is a rarity in this place. I quickly rushed to get my camera for some reason that I still struggle to identify. For one it speaks  ‘support’ to me.

What do you see when you look at this photo?

Naked but not Ashamed…

My silhouette

If I took the experiences

that life handed me deeply to heart

I would have committed suicide.

I am glad that I didn’t

because that’s a cowardly way out.

I see these experiences

as the hand of fate steering me in a direction.

I realise that life is hard and not fair

that life can be a bitch (forgive my French)

but the Spirit of Hope and Fight in me

tells me that new every morning

is a gift from the Lord and

I must unwrap this gift of the day

with utmost gratitude, grace, and belief.

Just around the corner…

On our life’s journey, one literally doesn’t know what lies around the corner until they’ve taken that turn. These few photos are some of the corners I took in recent weeks and got my surprises.

Bird

I had come to the end of my walk but for some reason, I felt inclined to break the habit of stopping at that point and I took the turn at the junction. I had just taken three steps when a loud squeak startled me, I stared at my feet thinking that I had stepped on something, then the noise repeated itself, so I followed it and behind the beam was a seagull resting in the corner.

It was pecking at the feast set before him intermittently and I noticed the little plastic cover had water inside it. This sure made me smile and wondered who the thoughtful person was,  at the same time, I wondered if the bird was hurt. I watched it for several minutes before moving on.

My GPS was programmed to take me somewhere, but I missed a turn and lost my route. In an attempt to retrace my steps I simply got more lost and ended up in this interesting back street with the divine view of the sea and harbour.

I simply couldn’t resist so I parked my car and spent well over two hours enjoying a cup of smoothie, soaking in the lovely view,  and the peaceful atmosphere which was interrupted now and again by the roar of a boat coming into the harbour or pulling out into the sea.

Since then, this place has become one of my fave spots to visit for my me time. It also boasts some enchanting cafés.

I met the duo (the rabbit and the pigeon) on a lonely path in the park. It was the highlight of my walk 🙂

let’s hope that the glue of human love

can hold the center together

Great Complements…

Nothing complements each other like a celebration with good friends, good food, great conversation, and laughter. An excellent combination that memories are made of.

Building a Nest…

‘Petit à petit, l’oiseau fait son nid.’ Bit by bit the bird makes its’ nest.

I thought that I would only watch such stuff on National Geographic.

It was my utmost pleasure to spy as intrusively as possible on the little birdie constructing its’ nest.

It’s amazing how dexterous these little ones are.

Now, I regret not making a video.

Every Little Moment…

swimming duck, photograph

I sit on a bed of sand
aware of the time ticking by
nothing but the desire to empty my mind
I simply watch the waves roll by.

I stand under the drip drops of the rain
aware that the drops are soaking my hair
I couldn’t care less and stick out my tongue
to gather a couple of rain drops.

Every moment mustn’t be spent
running after ever elusive time
but being aware of the moments matter
and enjoying every bit of it counts most.

Shadows are silver linings. You should have no fear of them because when you have a shadow, it means that you are standing in the light.

Finding my solitude

In my World, finding solitude is not always easy to achieve physically – my dear Himself and our children are always underfoot one way or the other 😉

I’ve learnt over time to create ways to be still and find inner quiet even when everywhere is abuzz.

I deliberately seek out pockets of moments to enjoy being by myself and to appreciate those moments.

Once, I told a friend that as a mother, to visit the shops alone and to shop quietly without the children is a vacation. Thus, I linger over a pot of tea/coffee, natter over nothing with strangers and come home humming with a gleam in my eye’s 🙂
