The United States government. The rich, wealthy and politicians tell you to pull yourself up by your bootstraps yet deny you access to any programs or services that might help you out. Not to mention the racism, sexism, ageism, etc…. What bootstraps?!! No boots, shoes or socks! You can do everything society expects of you in terms of education & military service yet because of your skin color, gender or age the words Denied is stamped on your forehead.

It’s simply hypocritical to say the least. They put all the stumbling blocks to make sure the a certain class of people stay down, under their thumbs and remain the butt of their crass inhumane comments.

Amen Sister!! African-Americans have been battling since we were brought to this country as slaves. However we are a strong people and have not only survived but thrived despite having everything taken from us. The struggle continues.

I could say I’ve experienced too many of the sort you reference so vividly, Jacqueline, and they are certainly easy to find. But thanks to God, I know even more who truly encourage and edify others. Though we often must squint to find them, there is still some balance in the world. ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
