There comes a time when the ‘use by date’ of some people in our lives expires and we have to let them go. Those who can’t stand to see your progress, whose main roles as the Negative Nancy’s and Ned’s is to discourage and remind you of a hurtful past, as a way to keep you pegged under their thumbs and forever cloaked in self-doubt.
These people exercise mind control over you and subconsciously, you are allowing them to manipulate your life one way or the other – when you have to hope for moral support that is never forthcoming, hide your true desires, or reduce yourself before them, in order to accommodate their scoffing disbelief, peevishness and other symptoms that they tend to exhibit, it’s time to put them to pasture and walk away. Not every friendship is built to last and have a fairytale forever ending.

P.S. Have you been to the party? It’s LIVE right now and you can join the fun through this link. See you🙂
This is one of the harshest lessons of life that you just stated so blatantly. Very well written, Jac. There should always be an outlet for such people in our life.

Brilliant. Toxic relationships should no longer be allow to be toxic, which may mean they are no longer relationships to us. Sometimes, however, that is not as convenient as other times. Thus the wisdom of the Holy Spirit!!

I think all of us have experienced friendships that are no longer working. If things have become toxic, it’s better for us to go our separate ways.

Definitely! A toxic relationship is not good for anyone’s health.

Pearls of wisdom! I think we all have such people in our lives whose role is fault finding and bringing our morale down. How often we want to get rid of such relationships but believe me it’s not so easy 😦

It’s certainly not easy. I had a painful experience recently, but I’m better for it.

And sometimes, it can be a family member, and that is heartbreaking.

Very much so. That’s the sad part when family becomes the enemy within.

It’s the hardest lesson. “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Proverb 4:23
