The Sweet Man – Everyday beautiful people 86

In my wandering through some backstreets of Deira over the weekend, I stumbled upon the sweet shop and like a sugar ant I was drawn in πŸ™‚

The shop owner was quite gracious as I took photos and had a brief chat with him. He’s from Bangladesh and has been living in Dubai for 22 years. He also has sweet tooth.

When I asked him how much of the sweets he eats in a day, he shook his head from side to side and said not so much again, because he can’t afford to lick all his profits. That gave me a good chuckle.

Below is my first just published Poetry Book β€œOut of the silent breath” which is available onΒ Amazon and Smashwords.

When you buy my book, youΒ support me in an invaluable manner.

Jacqueline writes from her heart on passion, pain, suffering, loss and LIFE. I have been incredibly moved by her poetry and I know I will return to “Out of the Silent Breath” again and again.

  1. Lovely pictures. Ironically, this seems like the candy store in my FFftAW tale this week. Happily, this man is not a witch lol. Thanks for sharing!

  2. If I was locked in this store for 24 hrs, I would surely not emerge still alive. No way I’d be able to keep myself from overdosing on sugar.

  3. Excellent quotes, Jacqueline. I relate to the vendor. Sweets (refined, processed sugars and flours) are my one remaining addiction – I can’t have them on the property. Won’t stop eating them until they’re gone, and then I have the nerve to get annoyed there isn’t any more. Only bring single portions of ice cream when you visit my home! ❀ ❀ ❀ ❀
