PLEASE HELP ME CHOOSE MY BOOK COVER…

Dear friends of mine,

Please help me choose the cover that catches your eyes from this link or below.

It’s for my poetry book due to come out this April, all things being equal 🙂

Just add a little comment and the number of the picture that you prefer.

You can help me share if possible.

Thank you for your support and kind regards,

Jacqueline Oby-Ikocha

  1. Congratulations and how exciting! I had a hard time deciding; there’s some good ones out there but I really liked #2 and #5. ( Sorry I couldn’t pick just one 🙂 )

      1. It really is, but we’ve got to start from somewhere. I don’t have the zeal right now to pursue traditional publishers, so what I plan to do is to self-publish this year *hopefully the 4 books I am working on* then give the traditional route plenty of shots going forward.
The good side of publishing a book is that it’s a long term thing.

  2. Congratulations on the book! Looking forward to reading your poetry! Sea Pony (my little eight-year-old) picked number 3. She says the image looks like sound waves, and it’s a good contrast to the title of the book (“silent sound”). I liked number 5. There seems to be silent breath between the two faces…and I love the feeling of the old pane window 🙂

  3. I love the third one with the white letters and the outer space feel. However, if your poems are mostly love poems the window with the couple would probably be best -and I love it as well. The rest -I’m not crazy about. But, the fourth picture never did come up for me so I can’t commit on it.

  4. Good luck with your book being published – hope it goes well for you. 🙂 How many poems are you including in your book & are you going down the self-publishing route? I’d like to publish a book of my poems.

Back to the front covers, my favourites are 5 & 3 (probably in that order, though there wasn’t a lot in it between those two).

My least favourite one was 1. Although red’s my favourite colour, that particular bold red font on the black background put me in mind of a murder mystery or true crime book rather than a book of poems.

    1. Thank you, Philip, for your detailed comment. I pray it goes well too. In this book, I have over fifty poems and for now, I will be self-publishing because I don’t have the energy to pursue traditional publishers, though I am using a professional for the formatting, cover works. I will have to push the sales myself (I hear it’s not an easy task, but I plan to enjoy it). The plan is to self-publish a number of my works and then veer towards traditional publishing.

  5. Oh how exciting!! It was a very hard pick so I will give my top three which actually are in order. My first pick is #4, second pick #5 and third pick #6. Best wishes on choosing the right one Jackie….you’ve got some very good selections to choose from!

  6. Wow. Congrats on the poetry book Jacqueline. It is an awesome news 🙂 I liked all the covers and I think 3,4 and 5 will make an impact on the readers about to pick up the book. But I think the content of the book also matters in choosing the cover. Like if your poems have something to contribute to the relationship arena then 5 would be the best. Else I loved 3 and next comes 4 🙂

  7. Hi Jacqueline. Congratulations on working on publishing a book of your poetry. I liked #4 and #5. #4 the green colour stood out and in #5 I liked the couple in shadow. It was my favourite and I think it really suites your poetry.

  8. Using a completely visceral reaction that says “this looks interesting, what’s this all about” then I’d nominate 3. The title placement and the cover photo drew me right in.
