BE FREE
May I live
Unafraid to breathe
Free from a choke-hold
That becomes a stronghold
May I live
Unafraid to live
Clinging to my expectations
With feral desperation
May I share space
Unafraid of being encased
Free from condemnation of race
That becomes a strong base
Purple, White, Olive, Black and every hue within
May I share space
Knowing that we are first a human race
…And all blood are red in this place.
May I speak of belief
Unafraid and in relief
Free from contentious eyes of disbelief
That becomes thresholds of grief
May I wear my mask of belief
Understanding that to achieve
Peace would be a welcome reprieve
…Which we must seek to retrieve.
May I love you
Unafraid to be bound to you
Free from censors of broken whispers
That becomes harbingers of cold shivers
May I love freely my love
Unafraid to expose my naked bust
Knowing that in you lies my trust
Encased in the warm embrace of your love.

Jacqueline, can I suppose you’re not white? I’m shocked, not really, but you are a wonderful human being and I thank you for sharing your posts with us. I’m white but not privileged and definitely not going to judge anyone based on external differences. I’m so happy at the moment (you have helped in that). For all the wonderful people I have met on word press I am grateful as they ease my pain. I’m not sure whether my family would approve or not, but I really don’t care, after all the black sheep of the family never gains approval from family. Once again, Jacqueline, thank you for being such a good friend and a wonderful person 💋💞😃😄😀

Beautiful poem! i really like the way you have explained the wonderful message. It is very relevant in this day and age. I recently read somewhere that “JUDGEMENT” is the biggest pollution in our world.

Judgement is really the biggest pollution that we suffer from in our World. It destroys. Thank you and have a great week 🙂

It’s always a pleasure, Jackie. I use to listen to hardcore music growing up…not sure why I was allowed to…but having kids changed my taste in music. I can’t stand that crap now and don’t understand why so many parents are comfortable allowing their kids to indulge in that adult content. Anyway…excellent work Jackie!!

I think sometimes, a lot of parents are caught up with trying to make the two ends meet that it’s so easy to lose sight of some of these things. Thanks my dear friend.
