Help Somebody!.. I know WordPress Engineers are hibernating, so I am turning to you.

Please can someone tell me where Freshly Pressed has run off to?

I can’t seem to find the freshly pressed articles anymore or is it no longer part of WP platform?

I know it was re-baptized sometime ago but where is it?

Is something wrong with my blog?

I think there might be a worm chewing up my stuff ‘cos,

– I have lost my Re-Blog button somewhere. Could you check to see if it came over to visit at your end and is still stuck there?

HELP ASAP. If you know how I can find my re-blog button and Freshly Pressed, do share your advise.

Pretty Please. With a cherry on top.

Thank you.

Jacqueline

To get a rainbow….

Call me cuckoo,
But that’s okay too,
It just rained.
Like really rained.
Here in Dubai,
And it gives me delightful tickles,
That it’s not just the few sprinkles,
That barely causes tinkles,
Showers and puddles of blessings,
I care not what anyone thinks about these things.
For blessings are truly abound,
Yes indeed, they are.

Dating a Writer

Reblog. Well, if you are planning a future with a writer person, you should be a bit prepared.
I found this humorously true.

aurorajeanalexander's avatarWriter's Treasure Chest

Today I was surfing the internet to learn more about me being a writer and how my world, my life, my leisure time behavior has changed.

I as well wanted to find out how couples are finding arrangements when one of them is a writer.

At the end I ended up at ‘buzzfeed’ and found a hilarious, but apparently quite accurate infographic I couldn’t resist sharing.

What do you think: Is this just as true as I believe it is?

Rejection.

Reblog . Drop the judgemental and myopic state of mind.

fonzandcancer's avatarfonzandcancer blogging to encourage.

Did you know this is a kind of bullying, even a form of abuse. Many people reject someone because of the way they look, maybe because they have some kind of desease. During my cancer journey I have been rejected by so many people that do not understand cancer. We have all felt it in our lives, we know what it’s like to not be liked by the kid on the street, or the work colleague that excludes you. I guess people reject anything or anyone that is not the same as them.

I used to get very scared as a young boy, because when I was bullied I would get into trouble at home as well. Because more often than not I would get my coat stolen or bleed on a new shirt. I without doubt suffered rejection allot in my life, especially by the bullies on the bus…

Ramen Asian Salad – Happy New Year!

Delicious Ramen Asian Salad 😊

Ramen Asian Salad

I consider my real New Years Day the day my kids go back to school each year. I don’t know why but that has always felt like the beginning of a new year to me ever since I was little. I get very emotional and sentimental around that time of year. So, actually New Years Day is kind of anti-climactic for me. I will raise a toast and think back over the past year just as most of the world will do. When I look back I hope to see all the good that has happened this year and not dwell on the things I cannot change in the world. Yes, I can be an agent of change but I cannot make the world change by myself. I hope and pray there are people all over making the same resolution to bring calm, peace and joy into the world around…

All Fagged Out…

1451751286538[1]

The days float by a bit too fast! Before we can blink, January will pass.

The holiday excitement and adrenaline rush of weeks is down to zilch and now my body is experiencing fatigue and withdrawal syndrome.

All I want to do is to sleep for days to re-calibrate but alas, no such leisure for this mom.

The children resume school tomorrow and my brain is not yet ready for the frenetic bout. Yes, the week starts on Sunday’s in UAE, just in case you wonder.

Come on! The school break is over already! Boo, Hoo, Hoo. I am wailing loud 😦

Anyway, life continues.

I think I will just get some early shut eye.

Nothing like a wee snooze to set things aright.

Tomorrow let the hustle begin.

10 things I hope not to do in 2016

An interesting perspective to resolutions.

Laduchessederat's avatarLa duchesse d'Erat

I read Vexing point’s my end of year review for 2015 where he looked at how he failed his goals for 2015 and I commented on his article that this is precisely why I NEVER do New Years resolutions. I mean, I do not need any additional reason nor tool to do the mea culpa dance and lose self-confidence or momentum on my projects. I suggested instead that he should make a list of things he doesn’t want to do in 2016 (and that if he did post such a list indeed, I’d do the same thing on my blog). So, here it is :D.

1. Stop writing
2015 has been such a revelation on so many levels about my writing. I did not understand how much I needed it until now. Writing makes me complete, hence I’ll keep it a daily practice.

2. Give up mon my manuscript
I’ve written 5 novels so far but my last Nano is…

To all the Fire Service Men/Women out there…

You know at times, we tend to take a lot in life for granted, going about our daily business grumbling and sometimes without care or in-depth thought as to what others pass through in the course of their jobs.1451716994149[1]

It took watching the luxurious building of The Address Hotel rage with fire on the Eve of the 2016 New Year’s day at a close range, to serve as a big eye opener for me, as to the enormous pressure and brave exploits of Fire fighters all over the World.

They put their lives on line every time they step into such blaze and even though some of us will very well say that it’s their job after all and that they are trained for it, it takes a heck of gumption to do the stuff that these courageous humans do.

For All the TEA in China and all the Swiss CHOCOLATES and a million dollars on top, I, Jacqueline, would not venture near that raging inferno that I witnessed.

The orange tongues of the fiery blaze licked with thirst and reckless abandon, in search of who and what to consume. The billowing smoke was choking even from a distance and yet these service men, did such a fantastic and efficient job even as others (including me) were watching in silent prayer.

Since the night of the 31st, the image of the burning skyscraper has been stuck in my head and my vivid imagination has been in overdrive ever since. On television, fire service men tend to look glamourous and sexy, but, gosh, when the chips are down, their job is one tough cookie to bake.

To the brave men and women of the Fire Service all over the World, how can one say thank you to your selfless services?

How can one appreciate the utmost help received from all of you for fire incidents which sometimes stem from actions of irresponsibility of others.

Yet, all I can say, and I know some people have this in mind as well, is thank you very much. Thank you for being there to mitigate a situation that could be worse. Thank you for giving so much of yourself. For your courage and faith in the face of such scary adversary.

Respects.

Bless you all.
