The Sound of Silence…

Solitude, Divine, Silence, Thinking, Poetry, A Cooking Pot and Twisted Tales

Divine is the sound of silence

actively, I seek solitude

to hear myself think.

Finding my solitude

In my World, finding solitude is not always easy to achieve physically – my dear Himself and our children are always underfoot one way or the other 😉

I’ve learnt over time to create ways to be still and find inner quiet even when everywhere is abuzz.

I deliberately seek out pockets of moments to enjoy being by myself and to appreciate those moments.

Once, I told a friend that as a mother, to visit the shops alone and to shop quietly without the children is a vacation. Thus, I linger over a pot of tea/coffee, natter over nothing with strangers and come home humming with a gleam in my eye’s 🙂

Solitude…Every day beautiful people # 50

“Sometimes I like to be left alone. Not because I’m angry, not because I’m sad, simply because I need solitude.”Brigitte Nicole

Solitude

Sometimes, you just want that solace that can be found in the silence of being alone.

You want it, just to be quiet, to mull things over and to hear clearly.

Silence is golden when savoured and solitude is not loneliness.

Below is my first Poetry Book “Out of the silent breath” which is available on Amazon and Smashwords.

When you buy my book, you support me in an invaluable manner.

Out of the silent breath

Never leave me lonely

With words left unsaid

You walk away into the dark

Like a mist, that melts away.

Silent Commune…

The bright light of the Sun
hurt his sunken eyes
even as his pupils fought
to adjust to such ordinariness
which was naked exposure

He felt nothing
no sense of elation
no sense of release
in fact a sense of dread
for he knew not where to begin.

Twenty-two years gone.
Committed for felony
he failed to commit
but criminal justice said it was
and so it has been.

Solitude became his companion
for that length of time
in a cell of total isolation
a short hard crib for a bed
four closing walls as his closest friends.

He clutches his head
for he knows nowhere to go.
He prefers to return
to the silence of his cell
where he communed in himself.

Finding Solitude…

Finding solitude in this bee-hive of a city, is literally akin to finding a needle in a haystack or seeing a camel trying to squeeze it’s hoof through the eye of the needle.

Well, that was my thought initially, until I started looking through thousands of photos and luckily found a few pictures that depicted solitude for today’s Photo 101 theme ‘solitude.’

I wasn’t sure that I would catch any solitary looking people today, especially with the particularly gray looking weather that we have, so I dug into my photos and found some reasonable offering.

Solitude is also not when one is all by himself, but equally a state of the mind.

A person can be in a crowd and yet feel all alone.
