The bright and shiny pink door beckoned to me to step inside. Of course, I had to satisfy my curiousity and took a peek.
Everything inside is pretty, shiny and smells good too and would possibly dent my account. I solidly resisted the whispered encouragements of the bottles of Arabian night perfumes and walked away with my plastic intact π
I love accumulating points or funds in the kitty and watch it amount to something that’s useful later. I also have favourite things such as books that I tend to hold on to but over the past few years, due to our moves from Continent to Continent, I have learnt to minimise my pile by giving them out and the thing is that once I’ve given something away, I don’t miss it.Β
A number of times, I have been privileged to use the points accumulated from my travel miles to purchase a treat for myself from the flight’s tempting catalogue without paying a dime extra and the feeling from such freebie is totally awesome π
As a thrifty spender, I keep my eye’s peeled for great bargains on food stuff because a penny kept, is a penny saved and the accumulation of those pennies come in handy. On Friday I used the 50 Dirhams (14 dollars) bonus credit that I accumulated from previous purchases to buy 2 dozen oranges, some strawberries, mangoes and grapes; the fruits tasted extra good π
Naturally, it’s a challenge to accumulate anything because it takes time and patience to build up anything and this equally applies to the finer points of human relationships such as trust.
The only thing I don’t fancy accumulating is stress,Β anger and lest I forget ‘weight.’ π I’d rather address an issue that’s getting on my nerves and move on rather than to keep ignoring it until it gets too much and all that accumulated emotion comes bursting out one fine day.
Such an approach of storing up negative emotions tends to lead to overreactions and it takes just mere minutes to tear down that which has been built over time.

After a busy last week, I took things to the slow lane this week though I still took lots of photos of ‘this and that’ in the course of the week.
Kirst shows us the singing, ringing tree and I must say it’s spectacular. I’ve never seen anything like that before and would love to hear it. Lady Lee loads of ripples of thankfulness and smiles are delightful π Take a peek, please.
So, when are you inviting us over to your neighbourhood?

This week has truly been a bit rough on my emotions, but work and attending a three-day digital photography workshop helped to take my mind a bit off things.
I am working at honing my photography skills and see where this road leads. It was a lot of fun that by the time I got home each day, I was numb enough not to think too much about all the ugly incidents going on all over the place.
I met some delightful people and interacted with one of the attendees, a beautiful Turkish lady. My heart felt so sad for her when her eyes brimmed over with tears as she talked about the bombing at ATATURK. She was scheduled to travel home to Turkey this week and her thoughts were filled with trepidation which was quite understandable.

This week, I bring you some bits of night life in my neighbourhood.
I don’t exaggerate when I tell you that this city is sleepless and as the weather heats up more and more, night business grows longer into the night and runs quite efficiently. The entire place glows with light therefore belies the true sense of the lateness.
I went to a Ramadan night market exhibition and up till 1 am, people were trooping in and out of the venue.
For a Middle Eastern city, it’s quite safe and people are comfortable to mill around that late.

The beautiful lady in the picture made a shopping experience wonderful. She was polite, engaging and very helpful despite all the questions I had to ask, she beamed with smiles all through.

She is amazing at describing love and life in her poems. She creates such beautiful images with her words. Truly, she is a talented writer and Iβm so excited to have her poetry book and to continue reading through it.

I went to the African store where I buy my condiments for our native food and for some reason, this man caught my eye. I don’t know why, but he simply did.

I absolutely love this book of poems. My favorites are βLove Rationsβ (for those who love to give the silent treatment) and βBeggars Supperβ (which definitely pulls at the heart strings). Two thumbs up!!
