Midnight Motivations and Musings # 66

1461091063956

Personally, I have sometimes found myself in a quandary as I am filled with an ambitious drive to achieve so much simultaneously and the lessons learnt by so doing, is that something always suffers for the other.

There’s no way to do so many things excellently well when the attention span has been spread so thin.

The need to accomplish often comes hand in hand with the feeling that one is a bit behind, thus the attempt to bundle up and get so much done becomes irresistible.

However, taming the desire to rev all engines and streamlining these projects yields a better result.

One feels less pressured and more productive when they set a deliverable timeline for each one and take it one after the other.

Let’s go… Every day beautiful people # 22

‘The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled.’ Plutarch

This photo reminds me so much of the years that my dad painstakingly held my hands and took me to school.

Blessed be your spirit as you rest on.

Sex and Shopping…Every day beautiful people # 20

‘Shopping is better than sex. If you’re not satisfied after shopping you can make an exchange for something you really like.’ Adrienne Gusoff

A hilarious quote, but true enough 😉

Shopping couple

The shopping must have gone well. Now they want to ride a horse 🙂

At the market, when I looked at the man and his trolley with the number to advertise his services, I wondered briefly what his life’s dreams were.

Midnight Motivations and Musings 58…

There are times that I have been asked how I can prove that there’s a God and I have always responded with the same quote above.

God is God all by Himself. I cannot limit him by trying to define him in the human context, neither can I constrain his Supreme presence because I seek for him to appear before me so that the doubting Thomases can believe that he exists.

I would rather believe deeply in God and live my life serving him through my fellowship with others than to spend a thousand years drifting in disbelief.

Every day, I see God. I see him in the gurgling laughter of a little child. I see him in the brilliance of the shining Sun, I see him in the birds that roam free and feed on the fat worms of the earth, I see him in the flowers that bloom in glorious colours, I see him in the love of my children and husband, I see him in everything that surrounds me.

Do you see God?

Tuesday Trickles…My Thinking Corner # 17

Every Tuesday, I share snippets of thoughts that I call ‘My Thinking Corner.’

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple.

Each Tuesday, share your very short snippets of positive, inspiring, motivating, health, spiritual, writing advice, clips, posts etc, that can serve as a prop to motivate others and simply add my link to your post.

I call it my thinking corner because, I actually take out a bit of time just to think through things, encapsulate my thoughts as much as possible and detoxify my mind. It helps give me clarity of vision and might help you too.

It might work for you in a different way, but the idea is to get the positive thoughts flowing.

Please send in your little thoughts. You never know whose life you might inspire.

  • Life will not seek our permission before happening. It’s either we roll with it or we get run over.
  • When we keep the light of our hearts on in our lives, many people who are alone in the dark can use it to find their way home.
  • When someone confides in you and your lips are restless to share their secrets, remember that once you open that gate to let it out, you can never bring it back.
  • When we keep our face to the sunshine, even our shadows will be lightened in the illumination.
  • Be contented. For contentment is really the key to our riches.

Last week thoughts came in from several great thinkers:

Tuesday’s Truth So many beautiful nuggets attached here.

Detachment Let nothing own us even as we acquire so many things.

Truth Tuesday Let me quote some of Tikeetha’s word’s below and how much I like them because I personally believe that if we fail, to be honest, and open to ourselves and those around us, we fail!

I chose to be open. It is when I’m open about my life both good and bad that I feel like I can see the growth. That I can see the changes that can and need to take place.

Worried? How to deal with it. Our worries can literally debilitate us and weigh us down. How do you deal with worries?

Annette’s Thinking Corner Sometimes the negative vibes of things going on in our lives would want to drown us, but when we start dwelling on the positives, we silence the voice of disquiet and find peace.

Thank you to Tikeetha – A Thomas Point Of View and Dehan Taylor for joining Thinking Corner.

I appreciate this and pray that the transformation of our lives will bring us joy and expand our horizons.

Let’s hear from you and do peek into the thoughts shared by others.

‘Human beings are born with the instinct to express themselves through movement. Even before he could communicate with words, primitive man was dancing to the beat of his own heart.’ Ben Fosse

Midnight Motivations and Musings # 54…

1460094118485[1]Life lived dancing to the tunes of misery wears out the soul living it.

Yes indeed, our days are not always smiles and sunshine, but the truth is that misery and negativity are barely a head’s turn away and once you give it room, it becomes a permanent tenant and a difficult one to evict.

A lot of  times when I am feeling down, I might brood for a while, but with training my mind to shut off the negative raps, I endeavour not to stew in it by getting engaged in little things that will uplift my mind and take the focus off me.

Not the easiest thing to do at times, but the alternative is worse.
