Rononvan's Weekly Haiku Challenge

Vanderbilt’s Quest…Ronovan writes weekly haiku challenge.

Ron’s haiku prompt rein/quest’ for this week gave me some pause. It wasn’t a swift ride like you would think, but I enjoyed the scribbling and tearing of paper that filled my waste basket 😉

Dragon, Bone, Fantasy, Sunset, Mystical

It was a quest for the brave.
Vanderbilt tugged his steed’s rein,
and set off for the dragon’s lair.

The quest’s trail was precarious and slippery
he guided his horse cautiously
gripping the wet reins with firm hands.

The quest is successful, dragon is defeated
a happy Princess is rescued,
Vanderbilt holds the reins to her heart.

My Thinking Corner

Tuesdays Trickles…My Thinking Corner #23

Every Tuesday, I share snippets of thoughts that I call ‘My Thinking Corner.’

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple.

Each Tuesday, share your very short snippets of positive, inspiring, motivating, health, spiritual, writing advice, clips, posts etc, that can serve as a prop to motivate others and simply add my link to your post.

I call it my thinking corner because, I actually take out a bit of time just to think through things, encapsulate my thoughts as much as possible and detoxify my mind. It helps give me clarity of vision and might help you too.

It might work for you in a different way, but the idea is to get the positive thoughts flowing.

Please send in your little thoughts. You never know whose life you might inspire.

♥ There’s a lot going on in life to be bothered with the noisome pettiness of things that aren’t worth the time of your life. Let go and move on!

♥ When you impart positive knowledge you influence eternity. You have no idea where the influence ends due to its ripple effects. Don’t stop imparting.

♥ Practice kindness for Providence never forgets.

♥  Who will change it? It’s you and I.

♥ Your plans are not as important as what you’ve done. Get doing!

Today’s thoughts came in from beautiful thinkers:

Killing fear: I like letting quotes like this sink in and repeat.

Step by step leap: Rosema keep’s it sweet and straight to the heart.

Consideration: understand, respect…simple message, yet impactful.

Stress-free zone: Nothing like family to be there when we need them. A positive vibe filled post.

I hope that you find these little drops useful now and again. Do check them out and please share snippets of your thoughts with us.

Thanks and blessed be.

There are many of us wearing our camera’s around the neck these days 🙂

Sometimes, I feel as if something is wrong with my dressing on the days that my little Canon is not slung around my neck…

I’m holding out hope for a bigger accessory…DSLR 😉

Out of the silent breath

Dreamy memories of dreamy moments,

of wondrous yearnings and many birthing,

as we clung to each other

excluding any other,

basking in the warmth of our own dew drops

glowing from the aftermath of good love.

Midnight motivation and musings

Midnight Motivation and Musings 87

1463541296651[1]

Can you imagine what life would be like if we all encouraged one another to be the best that they can be?

How would it be, if every single soul lit up their lamp of talents and didn’t hide it under a bushel of excuses or discouragement?

I guess absolutely brilliant would be an understatement.

It is commonly said that the graveyard is the richest place with the brightest and untapped talents that are buried and sadly, this is very true.

Let’s keep encouraging those around us to thrive, for we bring about greater good when we do this.

Iron sharpens iron and the energy spent in blowing off someone’s candle is wasted because it won’t make yours shine brighter than it already does.

Out of the silent breath

Never leave me lonely

With words left unsaid

You walk away into the dark

Like a mist, that melts away.

Fiction · Short Stories

The Hatching Van…

For weeks, the boys kept disappearing into the backyard to the old truck, surreptitiously sneaking stuff out of the kitchen with them.

Julie didn’t pay them much mind. She believed they were livening up the disused truck that they called ‘their boy cave’ and she was happy to have them out of her hair.

Being a mother to three energetic boys and a toddler daughter underfoot could exhaust a Saint.

Her curiosity only got aroused when Kelly took to mumbling ‘porous, porous‘ and pointing insistently at the door, wanting to follow her brothers.

Kelly’s demands turned to shrill cries that drove her mother to go and find out what was going on.

Loud, shuffling noises came from the closed van and on her persistent knocking, Toby opened it a bit.

Pushing it open, Jill stepped inside, to find a big green monster lying on her soft cushions and peering at her, with several giant eggs under the glow of a bulb, about to hatch.

For several moments she was utterly speechless, then she went berserk.

‘PLEASE KEEP SENDING IN THE LINKS.’

Today’s featured blogs posts are:

The revengewogger: Breidengale’s blog is a totally inspiring journey of an awesome lady. In her own words below:

Started off wanting revenge in a race against a friend. Turned into getting revenge on my body that attacked me with cancer. Learning to adapt and laugh at the curveballs life has thrown my way while still focusing on running that race next year harder and faster!

ShiVibes: Shihana is a young blogger friend of mine 🙂 In her own words below, she introduces herself. Please show some warm welcome 🙂

Hey there! I am Shihana Nachiya. Eighteen years old Indian girl bought up in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Another lost soul, wandering on this planet, trying to find a purpose in her life.
Words keep buzzing in my head, often leaving me restless.
I’m a dabbler in many things; poet, writer, photographer, bathroom singer, cook and a huge foodie, feminist, voracious reader, a music lover, life enthusiast and a good friend.

Give me a break: Very tenacious Squirrel. This will put a smile on your face for sure 🙂

Finding faith in fear: I truly enjoyed reading Susan’s article. It’s concise, practical and inspiring and here’s my comment.

This is so inspiring and equally practical. Our faith is active and we let go of the fear and trust in the Lord. I like the idea of sitting down and identifying the facts and the root of our fear. That way we get a better grip of it. I enjoyed reading this.

Please do step in and show some love.

Glowing Bright…Mundane Monday

Mundane Monday challenge is created to find beauty in almost everything.

The challenge is simple : find beauty in everyday mundane things, capture the beauty and upload the photographs.

Moon_1[1] Moon[1]

Two glowing bulbs

light up the night sky

one is the full moon

and one is the bulb

a riddle I guess you can solve

Last night I tried to capture the full moon, but alas this is a poor replica of the golden orb that I saw. The moon is such a regular feature in our lives…what if the old man on the Moon decides to take it away for a while? What then?

Out of the silent breath

Delicious memories are here with me,

of lying in your arms and listening to your heartbeats

they rhymed with the drip drops on the rooftops.

of cuddling under the covers, as the windows misted over,

whispering sweet nonsense and laughing softly,

to our little intimate jokes.
