Gratitude

It Started With a Hello…personal

Angels walk in our midst each day as strangers and this past week has been one of my best so far health wise due to a brief encounter and discussion with a total stranger.Image result for thank you image angels

My fibromyalgia has given me a lot of pains these past few months and just last week Wednesday, I had an encounter with a lady on a staircase where I was holding onto the railings and trundling down gingerly and by just saying hello to her as she walked past me in her ripped jeans and paint-splattered T-shirt we got into a brief conversation.

She recommended that I should try some Magnesium tablets that she believes would help. I was skeptical because I have a cupboard filled with x,y and z vitamins all promising what they don’t fulfill. I had done a full bloodwork recently and the doctor gave me another shovel of vitamins, so you can see why I was skeptical.

However, a little voice reminded two days later when I had a poor night due to pains to just try what the lady had told me. To cut a long story short, it works! I found it and right from the next day, I felt a lot better. For four straight nights in a row, I have slept soundly without waking to stretch or massage my aching body, so you can understand my pleasure.

To this stranger that I may never meet again, thank you with all my heart. I am grateful.

It all started with a hello. I always say that all good things around us are sent from Heaven above and I thank the Lord for the beautiful stranger who is an Angel sent to me on that staircase.

I am learning never to take anyone for granted because I never know when I might have a divine encounter because life has shown me that the angels who walk amongst us are just like you and me.

THESE ARE THE REASONS NO ONE READS YOUR BLOG. 11 LITTLE TIPS TO CHANGE THINGS.

Blog Audience, Improve Blog, Writer, Blog Tips, Copy-writing, Branding, Social Media, Site Speed, Promotion, Grammarly, WPEngine, NameCheap

As a writer cum blogger, we all know how much effort and time it takes to craft your words, curate your images, tag, categorize, primp, polish and publish courageously, only for you to sit back satisfied, twiddling your thumbs anticipating a deluge of comments from expected readers, but, gasp and with a lump in your throat, no one hits that like button or even leaves a smiley face behind. It could dampen anyone’s enthusiasm.

The situation is tougher when you are just starting out with your blogging or writing passion and you need that validation that comes from others – of course, your few good buddies and mom would probably support you, woe betide them if they don’t, but we all do need that extra validation because we are social beings, so spare yourself the rhetoric of ‘I’m writing for myself,’ and let’s get to the cause. My Thinking Corner

Tuesdays’ Trickles – My Thinking Corner

picsart_11-01-08-04-201

This quote above is me talking to myself lately. I’ve embarked on different things and there are days that I wake up believing that I know what I am doing, but by the end of the day I just feel as though I am bumbling around mindlessly as though the hills that I have to climb are so high and the valleys cold and lonely.

On such days, I whisper a silent prayer of hope in my heart and holding on to my little seed of faith, I keep following the green light, knowing that all things work together for my own good.

In face of doubt, don’t relent. Take a deep breath and reevaluate. What is there to gain in turning away from your direction? What is there to gain in forging ahead? Much more. So, let’s keep on our course.

Bisi shares a short, inspiring and uplifting post with us. Please check it out and support her.

Thank you.

The big old grandfathers’ clock struck midnight
The witching hour crept by
hearts raced under the blanket in terror.

A distant howl tore into the silent night
the creepy crawlies salivated greedily
racing to plant their fangs’ in frenzy.

Short Stories

The House…

Out of habit, Miranda, glanced at the vacant house as she walked past.

She was always willing to tell the story of the house and it’s former inhabitants to anyone, of course without missing her highlighted moments of local fame as a witness to a highly publicized grizzly incident.

This is where she grew up and lived all her life. She knew the late Jones’s. Houses in the neighbourhood were close to each other, that everyone knew the other’s business and each wall had an ear listening to it.

She remembered that night when she overheard Jack’s gruff voice as he shouted ‘over my dead body Sue!’

It was nothing new to hear him make such declarations. The Simpsons loved hard, played hard and fought even harder. Their strange shenanigans were noisy enough to give the neighbours a clue.

Tilley, the beautiful Mrs. Jones went missing, her body parts found in different parts of town. The strange thing was that Jack was found with a slit throat and missing ears. The murderer is still at large.

I stood under the street lamp with three bulbs watching the World go by and probably wouldn’t have paid much mind to it except when one of the bulbs started blinking and sizzling, now that caught my interest. I wonder what spooked the light 😉
