Parenting is hard:  Your patience has to be thick yet malleable in order to be a parent. There are no perfect parents, but there are good parents who are trying their best to raise their children well.

Stupid things I did when I was young: I know you got up to some silly stuff growing up. Do share with us at least for a good laugh 😉

Melania’s Speech: What are your thoughts on the issue plagiarism? Could this controversy change the rules and precedents of plagiarism?

Writer's Quote Wednesday

Hope Rising…Writers Quote Wednesday Writing Challenge.

Hope_rose[1]

Hold on to your hope; for hope is the leaven that bakes the bread of your expectation – Jacqueline

Hope Rising

****

Even when my breath falters in trepidation

hope burgeons within my soul.

For the spirit of light

must outshine the pitch of darkness

and the strength of love

bends the hopeless state of hatred.

Indeed,

Our Hope in humanity must arise

even in the midst of dire crisis.

**

Giving up hope is as good as giving up breathing because each day that we live, we are faced with challenges that require the strength of our hope, faith and courage to get through.

Sometimes dire situations can cause us to become despondent, however, there are various ways of holding on to your hope whilst you walk through a situation. One can’t just roll over and give up. We’ve got to keep holding on to hope, walking our way through, for no circumstance is permanent.

Out of the silent breath

Jacqueline Oby-Ikocha’s poems portray images that stare us right in the face. Images of love, joy, death, pain, challenges, violation, and freedom. She writes in a language that’s rich in imagery, earthy, honest, vulnerable, yet full of the promise of hope, of loving and of Grace. A collection of light and dark soulful prose.

Gratitude

TODAY…personal thoughts

TODAY is bright and the beginning of the rest of my life. Each day is an opportunity to improve on yesterday and I must make myself accountable for each day.

The fragility of human life has grown even more tenuous these days that I wonder if at the hurried rate hatred and violence is eating into the fabric of humanity if people will grow to ripe old age anymore even with the fact that we seem to be more scientifically aware than ever before? I don’t think so! For it does seem that the more we know, the more tenuous life becomes and it brings it home to me that I have to endeavour to live better each day.

I am a firm believer that God inhabits the praise of his people and I see the pep in my steps when I wake each morning and face the rising Sun in thanksgiving. I have compared my grateful heart to my heart that has often sojourned in a labyrinth of dark emotions and I know the better difference.

I have no crystal ball to show me all that may transpire around me before the day is over, all that I am in a position to do, is to accept the Grace and Mercy given and the Will Power to equip myself with mindful, positive truths and reflections to live my life for each day like a prayer.

I am grateful for a conscious heart, mind, good health and the simple things of life because every other thing is just an addition.

“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22

My Thinking Corner

Tuesdays Trickles – My Thinking Corner 31

Every Tuesday, I share snippets of thoughts that I call ‘My Thinking Corner.’

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple. You can check this link for more details.

♦  When you are feeling down, by all means, don’t ignore your feelings, acknowledge and ‘deal with them,’ if you don’t you’ll simply pile them up that one day it becomes an avalanche.

♦  Do not stay down for too long, for climbing out of a rock-bottom pit is far more difficult than falling into it.

With the way life has been, it’s no surprise if anyone feels down, but the hard truth is that it’s probably never going to be a smooth sailing life ever, so except one wants to remain down and rock-bottom out, it’s better to acknowledge the problems especially if you can’t run away from them and begin to apply your own practical and sensible solutions in dealing with those that are within your purview.

It’s just one chance that we’ve got to live this life and we’ve got to keep giving it the best shot.

BEAUTIFUL posts from Deborah and Petra:

Joyful childlike qualities: this post touches me that I have no precise words to express how Deborah’s connection and words about her autistic brother make me feel. Stephen lives life in the present moment with childlike enthusiasm 🙂

Look up: sometimes things may not go exactly as we wish them to, but they only challenge us to look up and see other alternatives and narratives.

Please do step in and share a moment or two. One thing that I have learnt with doing this exercise is that I have always come away far more enriched than I set out.
