A little Summer tale…

We wore Summer dresses

spun like flower coloured cotton

that sat on each stalk

Can you spot the difference?

Can you help the poor farmer below?

A poor farmer went to the market to sell some peas and lentils. However, as he had only one sack and didn’t want to mix peas and lentils, he poured in the peas first, tied the sack in the middle, and then filled the top portion of the sack with the lentils.

At the market, a rich innkeeper happened by with his own sack. He wanted to buy the peas, but he did not want the lentils.
Pouring the seed anywhere else but the sack is considered soiling.

To trade in sacks is not allowed. The farmer can’t cut a hole in his sack.
How would you transfer the peas to the innkeeper’s sack, which he wants to keep, without soiling the produce?

    2. Wooh this song is awesome. I’m having a full on dance session. You rock Jaque. I will have a mocktail . I can’t think of what to add to the poem because I – am too busy dancing. I just want to say hola to everyone. I’m living in the U.K. – it’s a good turn out so far. So many lovely places and interesting people. I would like a bit of Nina Simone – I am my freedom. I recently watched a Netflix documentary on her life. I had no ide what a huge part she was of the american civil rights movement. I’ve always loved her voice and I admire strong spirits.

    I am from India from the state of Karnataka.
    Suddenly I got into this party on and rushed in my casuals.
    I am impressed by the food kept here, I think I shall go back dressup well and come, as many shall come in their party suits or in good attire. By then I shall be still more hungry to relish all this stuff. I am enjoying the music; shaking my hand and head right now. When I come back, shall shake my body too.

  10. its afternoon tea time here on the equator and i am in air conditioned comfort (always longing for the cold), your food spread is so delicious i am going to help myself to everything, thank you for being the perfect host.

    i am Gina and i love reading quotes so here’s one i just read:

    2. AH! Tea time! My favorite is Darjeeling, which I’m sipping right now from a real china tea cup. Loving it! And yes, I love winter in the USA, of which we don’t get enough here in southern Missouri for my particular taste.

    1. Hi Stephanie, I lived in Michigan for almost 8 years and feel like I saw more of that state than my home state of Pennsylvania. From Escanaba to Detroit, Kalamazoo to Mackinac, Ann Arbor to Traverse City. It was a fun time. ☺

      1. Thank you Jacqueline 😥 I have learned to live in the now and not worry too much for the future. In fact I live for her memory. I started this blog to handle my grief. It really helps, and I help others too. I have many who follow this blog and my FB page who have lost children, we are not a club anyone wants to belong too. Gracias for your fun blogging party!

  26. What a breath-taking spread! Thanks for inviting me! I’m bringing a truckload of chilled watermelon, and I’m def checking out those mocktails!
    My blog is still pretty new, and it’s about my experience and things I’ve learned along the way, about addiction and mental health. There have been many tears but much more laughter on this trip. I choose to laugh as often as posssible, cos life gives reason to be serious far too often. 🙂

    SPOT THE MISSING – Sun’s glasses different, no lemon in the cocktail , the beach ball is a different colour, ships got no flag and there is no sand in the bucket.

    It’s been a while since I’ve played spot the difference. I spot 6 differences.

    The farmer is definitely in a dilemma. I suppose if he can, he could’ve held the peas in a separate bag or cloth inside the sack, thus he can put both the peas and lentils in the same sack without mixing.
