In as much as it can be fun to reminisce and recall those lovely times or not so lovely times that we had as teenagers and even as toddlers, I think the year is still a bit young for me to be living in the doldrums of the past and feeling wistful over things that are bygone.
Ask me again, on a day that I have just finished listening to a heart tugging music or read something sappy, or better still, hang around till the next holidays and toss the question right back at me, then, I just might be in the mood for poignant reflections that would have you pulling out your tissue box.
Now as it is, my brain cells are in the front drive and looking totally forward to newer forays and exploits. Today, this moment, now, is my present, so let’s focus on that.
Turn the next chapter please.

The Daily Post Prompt If I could Turn Back Time.
If you could return to the past to relive a part of your life, either to experience the wonderful bits again, or to do something over, which part of you life would you return to? Why?
If you had asked me that just a couple of years ago I would have said to my childhood (around 8) so I could confront the bullies and stand up for myself in my home life. However, I have gone through some pretty amazing changes and I only want to…or better yet, need to look forward to what is in store. I have wasted too much time in the past and just want to enjoy the here and now. This was a great read.

Same here Lydia. I look back at lots of good moments of my past, but to get on and progress with my life, I have to stop yearning for yesterday which I can’t get back. Thanks for your comment.

It’s always now, no matter where in the abstract we call time, my thoughts decide to go. Joy lies in being at peace with all of it, embracing it all as Self, and enjoying the ride. :0)
Please, check your email.

True talk and also sensible to stay grounded and enjoy the now. Just checked my mail, maybe it’s yet to come. Sometimes, I noticed that my mails come in at different times over here, a bit slower than the comments on WP.

There are decisions I have made because of my addictions that I would change if I had known what the outcome would be. But there is no point in my life I would go back to where I was happy as my life has been blighted by mental health problems from early childhood. Now, the present, where all my mental health problems and addictions are in recovery is where I would choose to be as I am happier and more peaceful than I have ever been in my life! http://bit.ly/1ER5cLY

Brilliantly stated. It’s a beautiful thing when you take charge of your present and enjoy the moments. It’s really cool interacting with you Caroline. I visited your blog yesterday and left a little foot print. I also followed you 🙂

Hmmm… I’m happy in my life right now and I enjoy being in my 30’s cause I feel like there’s a certain wisdom that comes once you’re done with your 20’s. Lol BUT, I do miss being 18 sometimes…

Of course, there are some days in our younger lives that we miss, but being happy in the present moment is key and it is good that you are. Thank you for stopping by.
