Why yes of course and thank you too for asking WP.
I have always known that you would prove to be a valuable friend and a late Christmas gift or even an early Valentines gift is highly welcome π
There’s a gadget that I am coveting very much but can’t afford right now.
It’s one of those fantastic high performance cameras, so that my clicking fingers can click to my hearts content.
I used to love posing for pictures, as time goes on, I find myself loving staring through camera lens and snapping away happily.
I have one that I use for traveling and she has served me faithfully for years now.
It’s a small one, not bad but the little darling is due for retirement and pension.
These days that my photographing juice is flowing, I find myself staring through the display window with glazed eyes, drooling and rubbing my palms together and doing all sorts of mental calculations on how to acquire such a beauty.
Now that you ask, things are suddenly looking up and I can see the generous Secret Santa in you.
Let me go and wait patiently.
Jacqueline Oby-Ikocha.
The Daily Post prompt,Β Keeping up with the Jones’s.
Tell us about the one luxury item you wish you could afford, in as much detail as you can. Paint a picture for us.
Since I’m in the same boat, I offer you an imaginary camera. The latest and greatest in the universe. Come closer. Turn around. There, I just made a delusional laser cut in your scalp and placed this miraculous camera into your brain. Now you can magically take photos with your mind and with a point of a finger, you can make those photos come to life! XOXOXO!

Go for it girl! Save up your nickles and pinch pennies…leave hints with hubby and others, buy the thing on time… I want a camera like that too…in fact I tried to order one from Best Buy but the order is still in the “cart.” I have no idea why…now I can’t work up the nerve to commit to $300.00 total. π

I am going to start leaving droplets of hints everywhere and really save for it as well. The truth is that these gadgets are not cheap and $300 is not a piddly sum to turn up my nose at.

the $3oo includes a nice case, instructions, a free little disc, and a decent neck strap. It is also on sale, about $150 off. I have to spend it on frivolous stuff like the gas bill and electricity. haha

That’s a very good deal. I think you should go for it.

to elaborate… it sounds like the one you want is much more “capable” and expensive than the one I ordered. I just want faster speed… my settings on my little Sony are just too basic. My son has a little Nikon that is more what I want, and I use that a lot. I could also…really drastic…read the instructions of my camera online. π

The one I want is almost a 1,000 and I wonder what exactly I will be doing to get it to pay for itself. I think blogging does get a lot of latent juices revving and we want to do more.

my first camera was when I worked for the newspaper, it was $85…and it paid for itself many times over before I replaced it. I have had higher-tech SLR cameras over the years but my eyesight is a factor in focusing now…at least that’s my excuse. π

A reasonable enough excuse Gradmama. Mine is just that I am loving taking photos and want to dabble into photography.

you’re a lot younger than me, so expected to have a lot more time to develop and hone your photo skills. I love taking photos too, what I probably need is just a bit more skill. My husband used to take the shots we used for my newspaper features…his technical skills were much better than mine, although my esthetics were maybe better. π

Oh, that’s a good one! I granted myself that wish one year when a family member wanted me to take wedding pictures for her. I figured the expense was justified. I have loved my camera, but now I want the upgrade. Isn’t that how life works? We always want something better. I say go for it.

Yes. Cameras are beautiful creations aren’t they? But save your pennies and you can get one. Budgeting is all about weighing necessities against desires and compromising on which desires to get first.

I have a little compact camera, my i phone and a dslr. Part of me would love a new, bigger dslr but the other part knows I’d get fed up with carrying the weight!

Sis from the pictures that you put up, I imagined all the heavy gadget that you would have. I guess it must be tedious lugging the weight around when one acquires those big ones.

I rarely take out more than one lens, I find it tedious. Luckily phone cameras are good these day, unless you want to zoom in or crop.
