The gym overflows to the brim
Every corner occupied to its seam
The svelte and the porky
The taut and the cuddly
All gathered in the square space
Intents burning in avid blaze
Brand new gears all donned for the show
Sweat trickles down and dots the brows
The man with the wobbly one pack
See’s in his mind a defined six pack
The lady with the pouting lips
Takes the 50th selfie as she takes another leap
The dude with true six packs
Simply shows off with all the weight racks
The sage mother like I, walks sedately on a climb
We offer each other a nod and a smile
We huff and we puff
We groan and we grunt
I haven’t seen the gym this way
No. Not in many months of May
I know the new ‘Resolutioners’
With the Dre beats and everything new
Let’s watch and see how long
The new fad will continue to brew.

I’m going back home tomorrow. The gym has always been my safe haven. Another week of not training will make me go crazy.

Yes, most everyone gives up before the month is out! That’s the trouble with New Years resolutions, some of them are for show, not for real!

True Meg. It’s so easy to fall off the wagon by the end of the month. It’s better to incorporate a lifestyle than a frenzy of resolutions that won’t last.

When I was in my eArly twenties I used to hate January at the gym. All these newbie’s taking long on the machines and making everything so busy. Now I’m on the otherside of things where I think wow good for them at least they made it there. And maybe if they can get to a point where they start to notice some change they will keep going. I hope that for myself too. Personally, I think though you should work out to a point at home until you are healthy enough to go the gym. It will be a lot easier on you if you do. But whatever works. Great story.

Hehe, I hope some will at least stick to it and not let the facade of New Years Resolution get to them. It is funny though.

We shall see how far they go. Always amusing the way we humans attack with zest and wilt before half time 😉
