Feeding The Inspiration…The Writer’s Quote Wednesday Challenge

This week’s prompt for Writers Quote Wednesday Challenge is ‘inspiration’ and I found an interesting quote below. The poem following the quote is my thought on how I feel sometimes about inspiration.

“The Page awaits the inspiration even as inspiration roams the world of man, seeking a page upon which to unfurl itself, body and soul, bare yet clothed in immortality if not immediacy. And the gods said, “Let there be a Page and many a Page,” and there was a Book. And we saw that the Book was good.” ― Chila Woychik

Like delicate butterflies darting around
inspirations float quickly past
that to catch and keep it
my pen has to be
as swift as a hawk.

They are like shiny dew drops
that evaporate in the morning sun
Therefore, I catch them
and store in my bottle of thoughts
to imbibe at my pleasure.

Surrounding us at every turn
some inspirations are little buds
that blossoms into full-fledged ideas
gathering momentum as it opens up
or shriveling to death from lack of nourishment.

What inspires one to write? I’m yet to find the answer. I just know that there are driving forces inside my head that makes me write what I write and I follow the voices.

Some ideas I bank for use at some point in time and some dance around in my head until they either go to sleep or I do something about them.

What I’ve also come to realise is that though sometimes we may lack the perfect inspiring moments to write, we should write nonetheless. Even if it’s fodder for our waste basket 🙂

My Thinking Corner

Tuesdays Trickles…My thinking corner 24

Every Tuesday, I share snippets of thoughts that I call ‘My Thinking Corner.’

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple. You can check this link for more details.

I realised that sharing so many snippets at once might actually not add as much value because the centre of focus oscillates between so many things, so I’m narrowing it down and dwelling on a snippet at a time to create better value.

Burden:

♦ Until we can truly lay down our burdens, our load will not be light.

♦ A load carried on the head, should not be carried in the heart.

When we learn to trust the Lord with our excess baggage, we are truly lightened of its nagging weight. It’s a process that might take the time to understand, but it’s a process worth applying to ones’ life.

Beautiful thoughts come your way from two awesome and inspiring blogger friends of mine:

Open your eyes and look: Dehan’s message is surely one to start the day with.

Follow the leader: Rosema knows how to deliver sweet and succinct messages. I like this.

I hope that you find these little drops useful now and again. Do check them out and please share snippets of your thoughts with us.

Thanks and blessed be.

“May no gift be too small to give, nor too simple to receive, which is wrapped in thoughtfulness, and tied with love.” L. O. Baird

Open_it[2]

It was so amusing to watch the little girl reason her mother into opening the gift immediately. I know her feeling, especially on Christmas eves.

I literally have to hold my two hands from tearing into my presents. Between me and my children, I don’t know who’s more eager. My dear Himself is always the calm and collected one which it comes to present matters 🙂

P.S. Did you manage to get in for the blog party? If you haven’t it’s still live and you can peek inside this link.

Blessed be.

Writer's Quote Wednesday

Flying Free…Writers quote Wednesday

“Free yourselves from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds.” Bob Marley

I totally love this quote taken from Marley’s song.

Birds

When I look up to the skies
and watch the way a bird flies
free from any inhibitions
that hinders its expeditions

I wonder if you and I
are free to fly that high,
or are we buckled down by precepts
handed over time to preempt?

True state of freedom, I find
lies in the state of mind.
For the one who seeks to be free
must learn first to master the mind.

Today’s prompt for writer’s quote Wednesday challenge is “freedom” and interestingly this is one theme that I’ve been thinking of throughout this week.

Freedom to be. Can we truly experience freedom in entirety as a human race? Freedom to be you without the silent permission of others?

I doubt it. Society can’t exist without rules. Freedom comes at the price of having responsibility and most people don’t like responsibility.

However, I cherish the freedom to pursue my passion one word at a time. The freedom of etching my words can’t be taken away from me.

P.S. You are invited to our monthly blog party this weekend. It’s fun and you get to meet fantastic folks:-)

Out of the silent breath

May I live,

unafraid to breathe.

Free from a choke-hold,

that becomes a stronghold.

May I live,

unafraid to live,

clinging to my expectations,

with feral desperation.

Midnight Motivation and Musings # 88

We have no idea how much we do for our hearts and minds when we embark on a journey of self-discovery and freedom.

Each of us has a different path to take to their ‘Uhuru.’ Though we may keep each other company and cross paths, my path can’t lead you to the end of yours.

Each of us has different shackles to loosen to set us free. Each of us has many rivers to cross, mountains to climb and time spent in the valley.

What I’ve found is that once you’ve chosen to walk into the light and positivity, then begins the joyful results of freedom.

Freedom is not a result that comes idly. Freedom is a consistent journey of the mind and it’s in that process of finding your freedom that you truly become free.

Photos and Fashion…Every day beautiful people #51

“A camera is a save button for the mind’s eye.” Roger Kingston

“Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.” Dorothea Lange

Camera[1]

There are many of us wearing our camera’s around the neck these days 🙂

Sometimes, I feel as if something is wrong with my dressing on the days that my little Canon is not slung around my neck…

I’m holding out hope for a bigger accessory…DSLR 😉

Out of the silent breath

Enchant me with your expressive eyes,

that crinkles in laughter as you speak,

that I may find myself ever caught between

the reflections of your pupils and there shall I remain.

Peace! Every day beautiful people # 50

“Don’t let people pull you into their storm. Pull them into your peace.” Kimberley Jones

Peace[1]

The ladies in the photograph hold their fingers up in the sign of peace.

Peace! We all crave it. We all cherish it. Yet it seems that in today’s political climate, peace is far from what a whole lot of people are currently experiencing.

May we have peace.

Everyday People

Solitude…Every day beautiful people # 50

“Sometimes I like to be left alone. Not because I’m angry, not because I’m sad, simply because I need solitude.”Brigitte Nicole

Solitude

Sometimes, you just want that solace that can be found in the silence of being alone.

You want it, just to be quiet, to mull things over and to hear clearly.

Silence is golden when savoured and solitude is not loneliness.

Never leave me lonely

With words left unsaid

You walk away into the dark

Like a mist, that melts away.

Midnight Motivations and Musings # 84…

We are all standard bearers, but the question one should always ask themselves is what standard am I bearing?

You are a source of inspiration, then again, what kind of inspiration might it be?

When we realize that we are called, not just to live and die in ignominy, but to live happily and to leave a legacy that will stand as a testament for our time spent here.

Enduring legacy goes far beyond material possessions, but legacies that embed in memories that even the passage of time doesn’t wash away.

If you think you can’t make a difference, you are so wrong. All the men and women who made a difference long before you and I, were mere mortals just like you and I.

You may only be in the position to do small things. Yes, do those small things with a big heart. Therein, lies the difference.

How do you feel when you stay on course with those thing’s that you set out to do?

Naturally we feel a wholesome satisfaction, elation and motivated.

Good results inspire us to keep striving for repeats while negative results drag us down.

We are imperfect and sometimes we fall short in focusing on those things that are best for us, but the important thing is not to let our focus deplete to such an extent that we have to start anew each time.

Discipline builds and becomes part of one’s character.
