When our minds are fixed on knowledge that is redundant and has gotten us nowhere, we leave no room to expand our minds or understanding.

We don’t know it all. We can never know it all.

For us to learn more than we know, we may have to throw away other preconceived and empty notions that occupy space in our lives.

Even our minds deserve a detox.

A lot of times, pursuing our passion will take a whole lot of our hearts, heads and everything else that we’ve got to give and this is mostly where the challenge lies.

In as much as money makes things easier, money has never stopped a man whose driving aspiration consumes him. They will always find a way to chase it with their zeal.

Often times, we are not ready to make the commitment that such aspirations require and we mask our inabilities by using very legitimate reasons. Other times, doubt may erode our dreams and they die a painful death never having been birthed.

You’ve got to deal with the doubts.

Finding resolutions to issue’s requires looking at them from different perspectives.

If a mind is fixated on a thought that rejects other angles of views, chances are that such a view will be skewed as well as myopic.

The mind of a thinking man is expandable beyond our imagination and only limited by the measure of our thinking.

It’s often interesting how we keep putting off things that our heart is set on doing as we wait for the right time to arrive.

When is the right time? How do we identify it? Will it come knocking on our door to announce it’s arrival? Will it ever arrive?

Some say it’s when they’ve got enough money set aside, some say that they are waiting for the children to grow up and there are yet many more excuses.

The whole glaring truth is that there will never be the right time except we make it happen. Excuses will always be bountiful and they cost several dozens for nothing, however, the cost of using excuses can be quite expensive.

Let’s start seeking that right time today. Today is it.

Midnight Motivations and Musings 58…

There are times that I have been asked how I can prove that there’s a God and I have always responded with the same quote above.

God is God all by Himself. I cannot limit him by trying to define him in the human context, neither can I constrain his Supreme presence because I seek for him to appear before me so that the doubting Thomases can believe that he exists.

I would rather believe deeply in God and live my life serving him through my fellowship with others than to spend a thousand years drifting in disbelief.

Every day, I see God. I see him in the gurgling laughter of a little child. I see him in the brilliance of the shining Sun, I see him in the birds that roam free and feed on the fat worms of the earth, I see him in the flowers that bloom in glorious colours, I see him in the love of my children and husband, I see him in everything that surrounds me.

Do you see God?

We make plans about all that we want in life, but life makes its plans for us as well.

We have a good idea of the structure of how we want it to turn out, but something derails us along the way.

At times, these curve balls actually end up helping to straighten and put us on the right path.

It all depends on how we respond to the challenges and detours that we are offered.

Do we choose to see every strike and fall with a jaundiced eye?

Such an approach bodes chances that we could become embittered and probably lose sight of the little openings and apertures that these lessons offer.

We should focus on other possible alternatives that may be available to us.

It’s a natural tendency for us to seek the approval and support of those who we consider our friends and loved ones because no one exists in a vacuum or isolation.

It’s also normal to find that some of those around us may not buy into our dreams or be our cheerleaders. Some will outrightly express their dissension while some may not voice it, but their attitude towards you will show their contrary opinion.

The truth is that the natural inclination of most people is to seek for the difficulties and all the reasons why an aspiration won’t work, before seeking for the possibilities.

One needs to be attuned spiritually to determine whether the criticism or voice of dissension is truly born out of honest conviction and concern for your well-being or whether the naysaying is borne out of envy, automated pessimism.

There is always need to weed out the chaff and keep the wheat. It’s not every opinion that you should pay mind to.

A quick question, have you ever taken time to ask yourself how much you’ve been robbed over the years, by the act of trying to fit in, trying to please and trying to be who you are not?

This isn’t a sustainable characteristic. It’s very exhausting and self-annihilating.

You can only be the best when you are yourself because being the second best you is not who you are.

A certified true copy can never be the original.

Different view

Life is a continuum and as such we are in a constant state of change.

This change should equally apply to the way that we view things.

Are we of such mindsets that are so rigid that they’re as good as being cast in stone?

How enabling has certain ways of thinking been for us?

Could a little tweak in our perspectives bring about better change and expand our horizons?

These are questions that I like to pose often.

What if?

I have found and still finding that sometimes we simply go through the same old, same old automatically that it becomes an ingrained habit.

However, we can rewire our perspectives to see just a little bit more beyond the surface and we will be better off .

The journey of self-help is what it is. SELF-HELP!

We need to take conscious steps ever so often and just be with ourselves, this could mean just a half hour of sitting in quiet reflection and not necessarily in a ritzy place.

Take that time to outline those reminders that your heart and mind should focus on each day.

Starting out might be difficult, but as the days go by, it comes easier with practice.

No guru, expert or counsellor can practice our self-help tactics for us. They would probably give us insights and tell us what to do, however, the work of walking through it still rests on us.
