Random Echoes of My Neighbourhood
Many weeks have gone by and I’ve not shared a post on Echoes of my neighbourhood. I miss doing so and blame it on the infernal heat in this place.
I have barely taken decent photos in the past weeks due to efforts to avoid heat stroke, melting into a puddle and baking in the sun.
I am one of those waiting for Autumns’ gate to open so I can dash out and play in nature. These past weeks have been from air-conditioned house to air-conditioned car, to air-conditioned locations and it’s getting a bit old for me.
So, I’m just going to stick some random shots taken here and there.
We are getting ready to go back to school next week.

I wonder if the school of fish is going back to school as well? Ha, ha! I couldn’t resist that pun.

The Dying One’s – Echoes of My Neighbourhood
It simply has to be the searing heat, ‘cos I’ve seen far too many dead birds this past couple of weeks. The poor things.
When I look at them, they always seem to have their feathers ruffled out of place and their beaks open in an attempt to get more air – my thoughts.
However, I preferred not to take depressing photos of the dead birds but sharing bits and pieces of my week. No one can convince me that the Earth is not gradually over heating.
Pamela took us to Jax beach and IÂ must say that I’m a tad envious of those enjoying a good-natured weather at their end right now.
Lady Tee shared some delicious slices of her world with us.

A Promenade, A little Show and Some Fake Snow…Echoes of My Neighbourhood
- I thought that I would have a quieter week this week with the children being on a mini-vacation from school. I lied!
There were lots of pending activities to fit into our busy days – church matters and meetings, school projects, getting my daughters hair fixed (a major project) etc, etc.
Phew! I didn’t know when we hit Thursday but we did manage to squeeze in fun along the way. That’s what living is, isn’t it? Balancing all the nuts on your fire 🙂
City walk Dubai is a beautiful location to visit anytime. There’s so much that aesthetically pleases the eyes’ and there are loads of people to watch. I took lots of photos that I don’t even know which one’s to use.

It’s been a calm week with the children at home for a short break and oh boy, am I enjoying the slower pace of things. My photo taking has been as random as ever with no particular focus in mind and I’ve been playing with taking photos in monochrome.

Mixed Glimpse of My Neighbourhood. Lagos & Dubai
I went visiting home – Naija several days ago. It was a trip of mixed feelings. I was happy to see home and family but not too happy with the slow progression of things back home. The government just hasn’t served its people well.
Well, all is well that ends well. It was a good trip and I traveled back to base in Dubai, jumping right back into the bus(y)ness of life.
Lady Lee’s all set off to the Philippines – another country on my list. I know she’ll bring back loads to see 🙂

Sail With Me – Echoes of My Neighbourhood
My Muse chose to take me to the harbour for a quiet time on Saturday morning. With my laptop, notepad and camera, I tapped away, sipping my warm latte and enjoying the gentle breeze from the Gulf.
I am working on a story that involves a harbour scene and I needed to revitalize my mind. Thankfully, there are several harbours around here and if you want a bit of calm, it’s best to go a bit early in the day before everybody troops in.
It’s a lovely place to spend a couple of hours and there’s something about the gentle sea breeze that kindled my imagination made my words flow faster.
Pamela takes us on a scenic walk in her neighbourhood before Hurricane Matthew and I think I’m going to hold Lady Lee responsible for planting hungry ideas in my head with her sumptuous looking pot of curry.Â
