To polish with love….

Nail Polish, grooming, gifts, little treats

My fingernails have been au naturel for many years now for expediency sake.

I love nail polish but with hands in and out of water cooking for my family daily, the polish chips pretty quickly and I’d rather wear my nails bare than bearing tacky looking fingertips.

However, my toenails are always glammed up in a cheerful, bright colour just like this new bottle dear hubby bought for me. Little treats make this girl happy 😗

Jewels of Dew Drops

Catching glinting jewels of early morning dew drops

that would disappear just as the sun rises

brings a smile and

a reminder that everything in life is transient.

That those simple things are extraordinary things,

like a tiny dew drop

being a microcosm of an entire ocean.

Open Prairies

I have had many adventures far and near, seen beautiful places, met fascinating folk, tried some daring things and eaten grilled bugs for supper. I guess I could reminisce and talk about them for days on end, but I won’t do that today.

Lots of adventures lie ahead of me, a million and more places to see, more people to meet and more things to experience as long as the good Lord permits.

However, the wonderful adventure I am having right now goes a back in time – through the fantastic good old-fashioned book series ‘Love comes softly of Janette Oke’ – to the beautiful 19th century rugged, open country of North America, where trust, faith, love, family, friends, honesty, and hard work were core values sought after and revered.

The current television series ‘When calls the heart,’ is based on her Canadian series novel of the same name.

I am so totally immersed enjoying my read that I could see the wide open prairies and hear the galloping horses and coach in my dreams last night.

Earth and its Fullness…

The Earth is the Lord’s and its fullness thereof. We are only partakers of the splendour that mother Earth offers us.

When I look at this date palm tree with its budding baby dates waiting to ripen, to be plucked and eaten, it makes me think of The Earth.

It makes me think of beautiful giving Mother Earth, mother to all of us, full of her resources that we latch onto and enjoy like sucklings.

Sometimes we tap and suckle with amazing selfishness and greed to take and take from her, yet, she keeps giving from her fullness season after season.

In Good Measure… Midnight Musings

Quote, LifeLessons, Wisdom, Your Portion, Poetry

Never forget that the measure you give,
is the measure you will receive.

You can’t sow corn and harvest pumpkins.
You can’t sow hatred and reap a bounty of love.
When you uplift others, you rise up with them.

However, when you spend time holding someone down,
you stay down with them because you need all your energy
to keep them pressed to the floor or the wall.

If only you can remember this,
apply it in your relationship with everyone that you meet.

You, my dear friend, will have a good measure,
pressed down, shaken and running over
added continuously to your life.

Little Surprises…

I have no idea how this genius of an artist did this surprising and wonderful work, and I was fascinated to no ends.

We had to look at the artwork with magnifying glasses because you couldn’t see it clearly with naked eyes and it was a delight to see the fine work done on such little pebbles, a strip of pasta, bottle cap, grain of rice, match stick, melon seeds, almonds and so much more.

It was marvellous. Unfortunately, the dapper looking enigmatic artist spoke no word of English so I couldn’t successfully badger him to share his secrets.

Living Nature

The colour green surrounds us everywhere we look, from the beautiful rich shrubs to my kitchen towel.

It’s a lively colour that speaks of freshness, life, nature, fertility, harmony, new beginnings, and healing.

It is also associated with money, finances, banking, ambition, greed, jealousy…take your pick from the list and go green.

Nature, Green

The weather is lovely, the lush green surroundings invite inhabits to while away some time in the neighbourhood park.

Here’s my son running around the green grassy field. I remember the softness of the carpet grass ‘cos I went barefoot and the fresh smell of mown grass is in a world of its own.
