With her back pack and meagre savings
she was ready to go.
—
She had been held back for far too long
taking care of everyone else
and trying to fit into their dreams,
which never felt right.
—
Now it’s time to chase after hers,
though she felt nervous about the future
though she knew that she would bumble along the way
and make many mistakes
they were hers to make and to grow from
and the future favours the bold who chase their dreams.

The hatchet was buried
where no one would find it,
or so they thought.
It was a nasty surprise
to see it leaning on the barn door
smeared in fresh blood.
Too many things didn’t seem right,
each day throwing up a new surprise,
they dug deeper to bury more secrets.

my quill is a disguised weapon.
light as feather
it can soothe your nerves,
sharp as steel blade
it will lacerate you to shreds.

Let’s build pretty little bridges to close the gaps between us.
‘cos our art is an international language that bridges universal gaps
Most times,
the chains that bind us
are tethered to our minds;
and only us
can
break
them.

The early morning Sun breaches the sky, cutting the blanket of last night as it heralds a new day.
Taking a walk at 6 a.m this morning and at 39 degrees I know that before 7.30 am The Sun will be blazing with such blinding intensity that will hit the upper 40’s before it’s mid-day.
As we simmer and stew in the heat, I am comforted with the thought that this season of infernal heat is just for a season of several months and that as each night comes, we’ll breathe in respite in the cooler darkness.
Now, she has been shorn of all her leaf, her bare branches stand bare like a dry ghoulish skeleton stripped of its fat.
A few months ago, she stood rich and burgeoning with greenery but cycling through life, this is the lean time, soon she will experience the new birth of more leafs.
We are they going? I have no idea, but they are certainly on their way.
Everything in life is in a transient state
‘As a team, you must keep me in the loop’
she requested of him,
and for sure he did,
he made sure the loop was tight.
he strung her high up with hopes
and lowered her down to the slumps
where he watched her writhe
as she fought to regain control,
like a squeaky mouse
she sought a way out,
for the space in the loop
was squeezing out her life.

The Daily Post – Loop
I know that we all love those great images that have a perfect photo finish, but sometimes, I find those unfocused and imperfect photo moments lovely to look at.
Imperfection is beautiful. It all depends on the perspective
The unpredictable, odd capture has a way of making things more interesting
