The Gentleman and the maiden…

Soft giggles escaped her lips

And she lowered her eyes in shy acquiescence

She had been waiting for this moment

His heated gaze and murmured words

Filled her with flutters of anticipation

Accepting his invitation to dance

She stepped into his arms

And allowed him to twirl her

Around the ballroom

In a sensual tango.

Vanilla in the cellar…

Oh my dearest Annabella
She thought she was Cinderella
She read that Mills & Boons novella
And fell in love with a fella

She misplaced her shoes
After some pints of booze
It gave her the blues
And sent her to snooze

Her sights were set on Andrew
Who simply didn’t have a clue
He was always confused
And she wasn’t amused

She cornered him in the cellar
After a dab of vanilla
A lot of history went under
And they honeymoon in Venezuela

The Future In The Young….

The hope of mankind’s future

Lies in the step of the young one’s

We are simply custodians

Meant to help them find their footing

How and what we teach them

Will mould the way they choose to walk

Let’s be wise in our teachings.

The Black Cat and I….

1460123880808

As I walked I met a black cat

Sitting beside the trash can

Black cat and I

Stared each other in the eye.

His were vivid green

Mine as it’s always been

He meowed a bit

And he moved to my feet.

He looked mighty harmless

His velvety fur was spotless

And since he was nameless

I called him cuteness.

He couldn’t cast any spell

As far as I could tell

It must be an old wives tale

A superstitious belief gone stale.

To paint a poor kitty black

Not cutting it any slack.

I returned to pore over my mail

And indulged in a tall, cold glass of ginger ale.

Hurried Feet…

Street[1]

From dusk to dawn

The flurry of feet

Hurried along the street

The needs of the day

Their desire to meet.

—–

The street is a happy place to be

With many things that you get to see

Sometimes, it might even be a clown

Or a lady wearing a frown.

——-

At times, it’s a happy looking dog

With its owner going on a jog

Or the man with the briefcase

He seems to be quite in  a haste.

——-

Some streets are dark

Some streets are light

Some streets are dirty

They’ll give you a fright

——-

Yet each street has its own soul

The heartbeats

Of the passing feet

That brings it to life.

Men at work…

It takes such men like those in the photo below, to create beautiful landscapes that we admire.

Colourful Silliness…

I love vivid and vibrant things
I love those shiny bling’s
All things bright and beautiful
Just like colourful Spring.

I love things in calmness
I love their simple quietness
It brings out certain righteousness
Painting your heart colourful in gladness

I love life in splashes
They make beautiful sashes
Just like the King’s gaudy ring
Now, that’s one big, fat bling

I love the calm of white
It also looks as bright
Though it may not be as colourful
It’s equally just as wonderful

Now this is just silly rhyme
I just feel like passing time
It’s Friday night Tra la, la
Oh! A good night for oh la, la!

Dancing in triumph…

Ah! Finally, the last day of photo 101. I believe I will miss this course, and I am glad that I survived it.

For several reasons, this month has been a hectic one for me and each day was really a case of mind over matter in order to get things done. A lot is left trailing behind and have to be attended to in this month of April.

I totally doff my cap to professional photographers that bring you the fabulous photos that you get to enjoy.

For today’s prompt ‘triumph and contrast’ my mind went to so many things. Music, little beginnings, and closures. For me, triumph comes from satisfaction over little things around me, such as getting my exercise done makes me dance and feel on top of things 🙂

I love Sunsets. They spell beautiful, serenity, closure, triumph and so much more.

Pairing Them Up…

The Photo 101 course is drawing to a close this weekend. Phew! It’s been fun, but hectic too.

Well, today’s theme is to ‘double and rotate’ so I serve you my takes below.
