Fourteen-year-old Abigale Forester, recently orphaned and a ward of the State of Illinois moves from Chicago to Florida to live with her aunt, her last living relative. Magnolia Forester becomes her legal Guardian, and together they claim an ancient inheritance; land that belonged to Abby’s mother’s family for generations.
Holding onto the only piece of her mother Abby has left, a calcite pendant and her mother’s most sacred possession, she discovers the truth of her legacy. The pendant is more significant than she could possibly imagine. Forged from a giant mystical heart-shaped stone found on the very swamp land Abby now owns, it holds the power of her ancestors.
But with that power comes greater responsibility, one that pits her against Rafe Cobb, a greedy land developer, who will stop at nothing to own Abby’s swamp land.
As Abby learns to be part of a family again and explores her love of horses with friends, Savanna, and Blake, the swamp slowly gives up some of its secrets. She is summoned by a primaeval nymph, who teaches Abby that her true destiny is to protect the nymphs from evil in an ever-changing modern world.
Can Abby save the swamp and the Naiad Nymph Clan from certain destruction before it is too late?

“This book was recommended to me by a friend, and I must admit that it’s not my usual kind of read. But I thought I’d give it a chance. Right off the bat, I had two favourite characters, Abby and Sam. The author drew me in with good writing, excellent pacing, and an antagonist that had me turning pages at an alarming rate. I had to find out what the dastardly villain would do next! Andrew Joyce
An enchanting book written by Colorado author and blogger Colleen Chesebro, the “Fairy Whisperer.” This charming book tells a story about a little girl, Abigail, who, in spite of a difficult life, finds true magic from the love she has given, the love she receives, the magic of friendship, and of her beloved swamp.
A wonderful book for tween girls who, like all of us at that age, love horses, magic, and trying on their own wings. Beautifully written, and lovingly told, this story resonates those values we all hope to achieve. Belinda MA Bit About Colleen

On a whim, feisty Tabitha takes a trip to the future with her trusted friend Milt, an awkward Science professor. Wonders and curiosities abound. However, their amusing journey soon becomes a challenging maze of difficult decisions. When an unplanned detour occurs, the two set events into action that may save one life and yet destroy another. Can these friends of completely different mindsets agree on a course of action?
Amid the backdrop of a future that reveals great wonders and horrors, Detours in Time starts as a fantastic escape and grows to present many moral dilemmas and surprises that can either destroy the strongest friendship or bring two people closer.
Love this book!
Not my usual read but I’m so glad I picked it up.
I’m going to admit that ‘time travel’ and all things related to it normally confuses me slightly and I end up giving up the read but I truly enjoyed going on this journey with Tabatha and Milt and experiencing all the troubles that may entail.
I couldn’t stop asking question throughout like, “how do they get onto the subject of time travel?” “what device is used?” “does anything go wrong?” “If so, what?”
What a enjoyable read. This is a breath of fresh air and dips you into the what ifs of our existence. Well written and easy to imagine the worlds that the author has created for us.
Author Pamela Schloesser Canepa is an instructor of Middle School English. She has enjoyed writing for various reasons ever since childhood, when she realized writing and making up stories would provide entertainment for long trips and keep her company. Her tendency toward fantastic stories was reflected in tales of discovering modern day dinosaurs and talking horses that would give her advice. The writing of poetry provided an outlet for private thoughts and emotions for years until she decided to self-publish fiction in 2016. Pamela’s genres include science fiction, paranormal fiction, and poetry of all types. The Made for Me series is Pamela’s first published fiction series. Her first full-length novel, Detours in Time, is being released in the summer of 2016. Currently, Pamela is working on a sequel to her time travel novel and developing more ideas for the character of Norrie from her Made for Me series.

Pamela D. Beverly’s author bio simply makes me smile – I guess it’s her calling herself ‘The Jacqueline of all trades.’
I am a Jacqueline-of-all-Trades but a master of none. Mostly I’m a student of human nature that enjoys writing and studying mankind. I have traveled all over the United States as well as to several foreign countries and enjoy meeting people of all races, religions and creeds. My main wish for mankind is that we learn to get along and enjoy one another’s differences.

Untangled, A Story of Resilience, Courage, and Triumph:
Recalling her life, the author takes us on a journey of unimaginable abuse with continued explicit threats that eventually led to her being sent overseas on an impossible mission. She repressed the memories of her past until a family tragedy forced her to face what her life had been. A history of abuse, torture, and threats to maintain her silence or be killed could no longer be denied.
This is the story of facing the truth and risking the consequences of breaking the silence. The author learns to accept the effects of the trauma that echo through her daily life as PTSD.
- I discovered Alexis’s blog randomly and after reading some of her blog posts I knew I wanted to read her memoir too. I didn’t put down the book for three days and for that time I felt I was re-living what the author has lived through herself. It is so well written and the story is grasping. Although it isn’t a light read and sometimes I wondered how such atrocities are possible. But Alexis is here to show us that no matter the trauma, even the deepest and most damaging, we can still summon courage and faith and overcome it. Thank you Alexis for sharing yourself with the world!
- Wow! Hard to read because of the subject matter but I could not put it down! This is truly a story of resilience and courage!!!
I have never experienced trauma or abuse but after reading this book, I have a much better understanding of the struggles of those that have.
This is an amazing book.
Delve into a book of verse exploring different topics and different genres, all with a RITUal twist.
A collection of poetry drawing on the experiences of the writer, ranging from matters of the heart, love for the family, situations in life and some verses written with a humorous twist.
From childhood, I always enjoyed reading. This love of books is mostly credited to my mother. The joy of reading spurred me on to become creative in my own writing, from fiction to poetry. As a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and teacher, I have drawn on inspiration from many avenues to create the poems that I write. A qualified teacher, having studied at Kingston University, I now deal with classes of children as a sideline to my writing! Happily married, I live in Kent, with my Hubby Dearest, and two children, not forgetting the furbaby Sonu Singh. I am currently working on some short stories, and a novel, to be published in the near future.
- I enjoy reading funny or clever verse, mostly on the internet, in blog posts etc, when I come across them, but books of poetry are rarely my thing.I ‘picked up’ an ecopy of Poetic Rituals when it was discounted because it’s something different and an easier read in between fat novels and autobiographies. It is really great to open a book and be surprised in every good way by the contents. I read through the poems at one sitting, delighted with each one to the next. They reminded me in some ways of Pam Ayres work; witty, funny, poignant, some slightly tongue-in-cheek. What impressed me most was their unfailing observations of family life, relationships and the frustrations of daily life. One is about not being able to get a printer to link to a computer – I could wholly identify with that one!
Read this book, raise a smile and even a little tear. This is a lovely read!
- Bhathal’s Poetic Rituals is a collection of poems that explores life’s rituals, those of a mother, wife, lover, and teacher. There are real gems in here with lovely imagery, humor, passion, and ambivalence. My favorite poems were the lighthearted rhymes about being a mother of young children. A great read to visit and browse throughout the day.

There are words you read and tears flow out of their own volition. This is how the words of haiku for Ricky Baker moved me.
Tanya Cliff is a beautiful soul. Her rich writing and words always reach in and grab my attention. I’ve followed her blog for quite a bit and I am never short of admiration for this writer friend of mine. You can get to know her better through her blog, Post Prodigal.
I only recently discovered Tanyas writing, although the way it touches my heart I feel as if I have known her for a long time. …
Good writers encourage you to keep reading, to enjoy the story. Great writers encourage you to believe and be a part of the story. Rickey story did exactly that. It touched me deeply and challenged me to go out and do something.
If you have a heart for the disadvantaged, forgotten children of our world this little book will challenge you as well.
If you don’t read it anyway. You might be surprised where it takes you.

If you love rhyming poetry, and a bloody good laugh, this book is for you. Short at just 61 pages, you could get through it during a cuppa and I promise you will laugh the whole way through. Martin is a master at rhyme, and also with twists, there were a few poems with unexpected endings, one particular line caught my eye for its clever analogy:
Judy Martin is a gem. A supportive blogger friend and talented writer whose lighthearted look at life through her words make me smile. To get the book, you can check out this link.

Wonderful tales . . . all connected. Well written. At times poignant . . . at time hilarious. A nice little book that I very much enjoyed reading. Thank you Ms. Bethea for sharing the stories of your family with us.
Linda’s gift of story telling is awesome. You only need to read her words to get a good dose of laughter bubbling in you. To get the book, you can check out this link.
