My Thinking Corner – Don’t Settle!

Life, Mind, Quotes, Dream, Vision

  • Keep seeking for higher ground and don’t settle for less. You can do more than you can ever begin to imagine if you really want.

Don’t park your dream on the side and settle for less than you know life can give you. Keep reaching higher.

  • You’ve got to reprogram that mind to accommodate the big dreams that you’ve got.

When a mind is set in its pattern of thinking it becomes myopic and doesn’t allow room for expansion. When people say this is the way I am, in essence, they admit that they are not willing to change or grow if need be, especially when it comes to negative habits and thought patterns that need to be changed.

  • You are never too old to learn. You continue self-mastery as long as the clock of your heart is ticking.

Setbacks will surely come as we journey along the path of life, are you prepared?

  1. Dear Jackie,
I have nearly given up on my dreams- for a simple reason- administrative hitches. My university is not verifying my certificates so they can be sent to the Accreditation agency. You might remember, I have a dream of enrolling for an MPH program in an Ivy League college in the US. Have been at this university for about 6 months- no response.
    So most probably dreams shelved.
Maybe I need to look for new ones’.

    1. You’ll surely find them. Administrative hitches are totally irritating. It took one of my sisters two years before she could get her certificates verified and I know how upset she was, but good news is that she’s finally started her Masters program at Rice University – Houston. Don’t give up.

  2. One of my young co-workers is leaving to become a police officer. I will miss him but I am proud of him. He’s a good guy with a great future.
I encourage all the young people to better themselves. Find a career that you enjoy not just a dead end job.

  3. You are so right, my friend! Especially that last bullet point … you’re never to old to learn. I think learning is what keeps us alive … otherwise we stagnate and the brain dies from lack of use! Hugs, Jackie! 🙂

      1. That’s for sure! Until about a year ago I was working on my Ph.D. and I used to get so annoyed when people … even family and close friends … would ask why I was bothering at my age! Sheesh! I may yet go back to it if I live long enough … would love to finish it, but I couldn’t really justify the expense once I maxxed all financial aide. Still … I learn new things daily in my reading and research, so I am at least keeping the cobwebs cleared out! 🙂
