Playing Ostrich – Streams of Consciousness Saturday

Prejudice blinds a man to his own stupidity and such a disease has no cure. Life and times have evolved so much that their postulated propositions to recapture their so-called glory days is a myth and a white Elephant project.

Promoting preconceived notions about people whom you’ve never met or related with is something that simply baffles me. Politicians who propagate racial divides annoy me to no ends.

Previously, I was led to believe that such opinions were formed from lack of knowledge and exposure, however, how on earth do you explain the pompous and potentially dangerous posturings of a man who is not only well travelled but wealthy enough to know the difference?

Privilege. That’s the right answer. Golden spoons afford certain men so much privilege that their entire existence is all about them and how great they are.

Presently, I’m trying so hard not to linger over the television in order to preserve my sanity and not to break my TV and if playing Ostrich is the only way to survive then I’ll try my best to succeed in doing that, however, I can’t shake the feeling that potential disaster hangs in the political balance.

Profuse prayers I utter in the silence of my mind hoping that some people’s personal ambition will not bring us to the brink of disaster and that I will grow old gracefully if perhaps they don’t frighten me to death post-haste.

  1. Well the Bigot and Sociopath takes office on Jan. 20th. Already the process has begun to repeal the Affordable Care Act, the implementation of the Muslim registry and also plans to deport thousands of immigrants. America is about to enter a very dark period. One filled with evil and wickedness. Sadly the Congress and Senate will rubber stamp his sadistic plans and some of us won’t be here or survive until 2020.

  2. It has been reported in the New York Times and online that as soon as this psychopath takes office the Affordable Health Care Act will be repealed and millions of Americans will be without health insurance. Dhrump has already approached various software companies plus the states of New York and California to get his filthy hands on databases that track immigrants. To the credit of the New York’s Gov. and Mayor both have said publicly that they are not going to cooperate with him. California will also oppose his dictator policies. Fortunately I live in New York City which is a Sanctuary City. Trust me when I say I will be staying in my Bubble as much as possible for the next four years as all hell is about to break loose in the USA. This tyrant is about to tear my country apart. The only good thing is that many Resistance Movements are being formed to fight back! Personally I will never ever recognize that sadist as President.

    1. I hope that dangerous and expensive mistakes won’t be made in pursuit of an agenda that only creates further problems all around. I can’t understand why you would want to repeal a ACA when there’s nothing substantial to replace it with especially for those who have no other alternatives. As for the immigration issue, i’m sure that there are far more sensible ways to doing these things and I’m afraid that his idea of picking on people will trigger worse repercussions. Let us pray!

  3. On Friday, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) sent out a tweet in support of the Affordable Care Act. The former Democratic presidential candidate noted that a repeal of the ACA would act as a massive tax cut for the wealthiest Americans.
‘If the ACA is repealed, the wealthiest 400 families would receive a tax cut worth an average of $7 million each.’

  4. I’m with you on playing ostrich sometimes to preserve our sanity. The voice and face of one of ultimate privilege has become so toxic to me that I can only read about him in small doses Otherwise, I fear despair could overtake me. Meanwhile, I do what I can to bring light to my little corner of the world and to support others who are doing good work. We have to take care of ourselves to do what good we can. Here’s to growing old gracefully and sharing what wisdom we can gather along the way.

  5. I have to admit after losing two friends in my age group and knowing what is about to happen in America I stopped thinking about growing old. I’ve lost so many family and friends in the 50s and 60s I think 2017 is the first year I have not made any concrete plans or set goals. My girlfriend planned on having a great retirement then she had a stroke and died. My other co-worker planned on a restful vacation and further his music and was found dead in his apartment. I’ve reached the age where I attend more wakes and funerals than birthday parties. It’s like waiting for the other shoe to drop. As the saying goes, Tomorrow is not promised to you.

I love it when you decorate my heart with your words..
