Now I know where blue-balls came from….

I don’t know what your are thinking, but this is what I am talking about 😉

The Vervet monkey, a native of Africa does have blue balls. You can click on this Wikipedia link for more details.

I have mixed feelings about caged animals. One part of me feels sorry for them and that they should be in the wild where they belong, then the hungry part of me that wants to know so much is glad to see them in the zoo where I get to know about them. A difficult feeling to reconcile.

  1. What a sad face he has ! Many zoos are now getting rid of the concrete cages and replacing them with a more natural, open environment. I do feel immensely sad for those that are still imprisoned in bars and cement 😦 That being sad, how interesting is this !!

      1. Yes, it’s a mixed bag, isn’t it. Some species only survive because they are in protected spaces.

  2. Hahaha! Both informative and funny considering the other meaning of blue balls.

I can’t get over the vibrant shade of blue of the Vervet monkey’s though, it’s as if someone painted over them with a coloured marker. Ah! The beauty of nature.

Thank you for sharing, it cheered me up. 😀

  3. Thanks for sharing. I am with you. I am conflicted over zoos as well. While I agree animals should be free and in their natural habitats,I do love visiting zoos and learning about the animals. As someone said before perhaps it will help those that are endangered. Still conflicted tho.
