You are welcome to our Valentine Blog Bash.

Just make yourself comfortable.

Refreshments are nicely arranged down the page. Drinks, Chocolates, Cakes, Donuts and so much more. 🙂

This video had me cracking.

You can crack your Poetic Prowess by taking part in continuing this tag along poem below. The full poem will be published on my Tuesday’s Trivia with every part attributed to the contributor. So here goes…

Her eyes shone with tears

That clung to her lashes

She glanced at the ring

It’s twinkles brought back flashes

Okay, so here are the rules of partying and mingling.

  1. You must mix and mingle with others. Don’t be a wall flower. Go say hello to someone and you can participate in the Tag a poem up above.
  2.  Please leave your blog link or post link in the comment box below along with an introductions.
  3. It’s one link per comment, but come back as often as you’d like, that way it’s easier to focus on a link at a time for others.
  4. Please reblog, spread the word of the party like butter, or like, share on Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, Facebook, etc. Tell your family, friends,  bloggingneighbours, even your blogging pets.
  5. Have fun, it’s a great way to find bloggers and have them find you.
  6. Please show some love. Reblog this post. It helps all of us! The more people that see and participate in it, the more potential new follows! So, share and share voraciously!

There we have it. Since all the rules have been clearly explained, have fun and make the most of it 🙂

Thank you for coming to my party and supporting my blog. You rock.

‘In my place, when you call for a party, you don’t skimp. Our hospitality is legendary. We even have jollof rice and gifts. Just help yourself to a fluffy teddy, a bouquet of flowers and a gift pack.’ You are welcome 🙂

      1. I have looked everywhere for the comment you sent me that had Jacqueline’s blog party link in it and I can’t find it. I think WP deleted it out of my blog. Would you mind sending it to me again?

    1. No problem. You sit in one corner, and we shall all come round and strike up a conversation with you. 🙂
“Hey, you.. i know you 😛 oh yeah, aren’t you the one who hosts that amazing flash fiction challenge – the one I participated in once. You know, since then my stupid brain has been in deactivated mode. Shall participate again soon. The photo prompts you give are amazing btw. I do come round often and I always read Jahnavi’s entry.
Here’s have a sip of my watermelon juice. Let’s go check out the terrace .. the view is amazing.

      2. I am definitely drunk…on watermelon juice. Not even finishing my sentences. I was saying I am a very shy dancer. But on the dance floor, when everyone is drunk and moving awkwardly, I seem to blend in 😀 so I am not so shy then

  5. Hi Sis,

Ah! I hope I am not late o! I was stuck in Lagos traffic on my way here, you know how it is.

I can smell the delicious jollof rice, I hope there’s some left for me. This occasion is beautifully catered, you can always count on a Nigerian lady to throw the best party. 😀

I am off to do some mingling, the guests look so interesting, and the ladies look so pretty in their colourful sky-scraping geles.

    Lovely idea. Well done!

      1. Hi Toby,

Thank you so much for your kind compliment.

Ah! I used to wish that I could sew too and then I decided to learn. Like most vocational skills, practice makes perfect. 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      2. Sigh. I was going to learn, even got an electric sewing machine and tried out a few stitches. Life got in the way though, and the machine ended up back in its carton.
How long would you say it took you to become so good at sewing? How many hours a day did you practice?

      3. I took a formal six-month training course in pattern drafting about 3 years ago. I learned about the foundations of dress making and the construction process..

To be honest, the “University of Google” has also been the most helpful with regards to improving my understanding of the finer details of sewing.

Also, writing a blog about DIY sewing means I must have at least one sewing project on my table once a month, which gives me room to polish my techniques even more.

I’ll recommend this book, it really helped me during my beginner phase: ‘Dress Pattern Designing; The Basic Principles of Cut and Fit’ by Natalie Bray

You can also check out the “How to sew” section on my blog, there are some useful links there.

Let me know if you have any more questions. 🙂

    1. Hi Silvia, I don’t have a husband. I hate cooking. I love to read too. That’s just one thing we agree on. My favourite book is If Tommorrow Comes. Currently reading Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite-Runner.
Let’s start asking everyone their favourite books. 🙂 😀

      1. Yeah, I love books too. They’re amazing right? I never heard of that book. I can’t say I have a favourite book, maybe Jane Eyre, have you read it?
I read now For whom the bell tolls-Hemingway.

      2. Oh, if you haven’t read it yet, then you should. It’s by Sidney Sheldon. Haven’t yet read Jan Eyre or Hemingway but plan to very soon

    2. Your food photos are amazing! Can you please come to my house? I don’t love to cook, but I love to eat. I cook out of necessity of needing to eat – but its always better when someone else cooks it!! I do have a husband, but he probably wishes he was married to you or someone else who loves to cook! You have a new follower! Reading the Power of Habit right now.

      1. Your comment was very funny 🙂 . The thing is I didn’t love to cook until 3 years ago, when I had too. And then I started and I can’t stop. It calms and relaxes me :).

        Liked by 3 people

      2. Don’t wait, it will not change the fact that you don’t like cooking. Make some meal you love, or try making some meal your husband loves 🙂 If love is the first and most important ingredient, you will do great :). I didn’t cook NOTHING until my mom had gone in another country to work and I had to cook. I was 21. it was 5 years ago, not 3, but you get the point. Start with something simple and something you like to eat 🙂

  6. Hi, I’m having trouble on the IPad but it’s okay. Plus, I was stuffing my face with some of Jacqueline’s delicious cupcakes. They are the best especially for lunch. If you enjoy blogs that are multi-faceted come take a look at my blog. I participate in flash fiction and write fiction of my own. Check out my latest chapter from my novel, How Was Last Night For You here: https://mandibelle16.wordpress.com/2016/02/07/16-how-was-last-night-for-you-talises-remaining-past-and-future-vegence/

But I also write non-fiction and write about my life and experiences, and I’m also into poetry. I think poetry is the easiest for me. Check out ‘Submerged, here:https://mandibelle16.wordpress.com/2016/02/08/poem-wrapped-poetry-submersion/

I also happen to love beauty and fashion so you can take a look at a couple of my recent posts having to do with Mineral makeup and what to do when you destroy your nails from shellac or Gel nails and their removal!

Thanks Jacqueline for the party. I swear you spiked this punch!

      1. Here’s my try to add to your wonderful poem:

        She couldn’t conceive,
        He’d bought such a rock,
It was bought with his love,
        In his love, she believed.

        He’d bought such a rock,
        She couldn’t conceive,

It was bought with his love,
        In his love, she believed

I am sure it was meant that way 😀

  8. Hi ya’ll I am Annette! First let me thank our hostess Jacqueline for the wonderful party! Next just fyi the computer repair man will be here today so I will be on and off here and there. Ok, on with about me basics. I am 47 years old with 3 grown sons and 2 grandkids. I started my blog on a cell phone via a app I thought was a journaling tool. I continued using the app and started getting followers and I was hooked. Expressing myself in my blog is awesome. The love I feel from fellow bloggers is tremendous and heart warming. I write about a lot of things I try and keep it positive and upbeat but sometimes I vent too. Mainly my focus is self improvement. I want to learn everything I can about all things related to self improvement I can. I have some neat things planned for my followers to interact with me and my fictional writing attempts. I am off now to look at as many blogs here as I can before computer guy arrives. Here is my link
