Finish The Story #1… In The Saloon…

Alphabet story and I started the story chain below.

We now invite you to add to the story line 🙂

***************

Frank walks into the empty saloon.

It’s too early for the usual crowd.

Behind the bar, Brad is wiping down the counter and rearranging the bottles of the new order just received.

Tonight is the weekly lady’s night. He wants everything ready before they arrive and he gets swamped with orders.

Brad looks up at the sound of the opening door and sees the dude in the cowboy hat. He is an unfamiliar face.

‘Hello mate.’ Frank introduces himself, plunks down on a high bar stool and pulls out a picture from his pocket.

‘I am looking to meet this lady, Isobel. ‘Would you be knowing her whereabouts?’ He asked.

Brad is not sure what to make of the stranger and his question.

*****Now you can have fun and continue it. The picture could serve up some inspiration, and at the end of the trail of what we gather, we will publish the full length accrediting bits and pieces to the bloggers who contributed*******

  1. He look suspiciously at his guest; wondering if he is in good company that morning. He has been told to be wary of strangers especially those who come brandishing photos and looking for women. What happened when once another gentleman came saying he wanted to meet Martha Lee is still fresh in his mind. He wonders if the Martha Lee’s story is about to repeat itself. The man who had come looking for Martha had sounded friendly and innocent. Yet the end had been tragic. He had actually been hired to pull the plug on Martha’s life; and she ended up receiving three shots from him on her chest. That had earned him life in jail for sure, but that did not bring back the poor woman to life.

With these thoughts in mind Brad is not ready to give any information about the woman in the picture. He continues to do his work without paying attention to the stranger, who, on his part, looks a no nonsense man; one who does not accept no for an answer………

  2. Brad still not sure what to make of this man! This cowboy with a English but southern drawl. Continues to wipe down the counters & putting away the supplies. Ponders, do I cancel the ladies night, knowing there might be a chance she might be there or not.
He recognized woman in the picture, his mind buzzing with what if, no I must remain quiet.
Knowing the woman is running, but not sure why!
He hadn’t spoken to her much other than the occasional hi.
He recognized that scared look in her eyes!

  3. “I’ve seen her come in once before I think,” Brad says.
“Do you reckon that she’ll be here tonight? From what I understand, tonight is Ladies’ night. Isn’t that right?” Frank asks coldly.
“I don’t know. Like I said, I’ve only seen her in here once before. But why are you looking for her?”
Frank glanced back at the photo. He slipped it back into his pocket and excused himself from the bar.
“That’s none of your concern. But if you see her, tell her that ‘F’ is looking for her,” he says bitterly at the door.
Brad looked back down at the bar. Frank had left a card with an address and a note that said, “Give this to her if you can.” Brad began to feel his heart thump heavily in his chest. He darted his eyes back to the door but Frank was gone. He returned to restocking the new shipment.
Just as he finished, he heard the door open. He turned around and there she was, Isobel, seeming slightly worrisome and keeping her head low.
