She drank till the bottle was empty.
Yet her thirst was no where near being quenched.
The arid dryness that plagues her, is bottled within.
The more she drinks, the worse it gets.
She stares at the rusty blade with bleary eyes.

Hi Jackie,
Sometimes, I wonder about alcoholism and addictions, I suppose it stems from the need to escape from reality and induce a state of numbness. Some people cannot deal with the truths that soberness brings. It is quite sad.
Have a lovely weekend.

It is very sad indeed and you rightfully said it. They sink into it to numb the truth that soberness brings. Have a lovely weekend my dear 🙂

Reminded me of Whitney Houston. I know it’s not how she died, but just such a waste of beauty and talent.

It was such a sad shame and pure waste of such brilliance

Seems I’m not the only one who has produced such thoughts for the world to see lately… Brilliant work nonetheless.

I wish alcohol would have some numbness effect on me- the few times, I had had wine, I felt nothing but revolt for its taste and was left wondering how people could drink this stuff.

The few times I touch alcohol it made me drowsy, so because of that I barely imbibe.

Alcohol is not a friend, people should not treat it as such. The sad thing is increasingly today alot of people cannot have fun with a bottle.
