Thank you Duchess for thinking about us. We were actually over there. We had gone to the Burj for the New Year’s Eves fireworks, when the fire broke out just next door. It was a panicky moment but their emergency team were very efficient. The fire started at The Address hotel (about as high as Tour Eiffel) which is linked to the Mall and Burj. Thankfully they contained it without loss of life and we witnessed the fireworks from a safer distance while they fire service men did their best. Thankfully no life was lost. They did a brilliant job.

I had just read your post about how thankful you are for last year’s blessing when I heard the news. I instantly thought about you guys.I am amazed the rescue units managed the situation so well no one died. I’m glad you and your dears are well and safe and I do wish you a bright happy new year.

It is a situation like this that makes all the fire drill training worth it. Thank God, everyone was fine.

Lights make everything more beautiful in the night. Without them, it would feel like cold concrete.

It looks kinda futuristic ! Whereas my neighbourhood now looks pre / post Civil War Era American, except for the cars, & a few contemporary buildings.

It is very futuristic. A lot of things here tend to look Sci-Fi oriented. Hmm! You should share some of yours with us. Pleaaaase 🙂
