This is one of the small it’s gonna be alright moments for me.
For the first time ever I am doing a complete post on my phone. I usually set specific time to work on my laptop each day and then use my notepad to jot down my thoughts as the day goes by.
However, my laptop turned into a bad elf and crashed on me yesterday, causing me to have a few minutes of arrested development when I called her some naughty names.
After slapping her around a wee bit, I turned her off, wished her away to the Grinch that stole Christmas, poured my self a nice glass of Irish cream on the rocks and curled up with a juicy magazine.
Before I could say Trump, I was off asnooze. I am writing this post, possibly riddled with errors but who cares? Not me! Not at this moment!
I am just taking off to look for a replacement laptop; boo hoo hoo 😢 forced to spend a bit of my egg nest, but I guess that’s what egg nest’s are made for.
I simply said to the bad elfin computer, you ain’t cramping my style nor getting my goat, lady. I am going to exhale and get my groove back on.
I even turned it into a positive lesson and learnt how to tweak some stuff on my phone.
What’s a writer girl to do without her machine? I will fix the silly one and keep as a backup.

When I try to find things, because I need them immediately that’s when they are unsearchable. But when I don’t need them anymore they suddenly pop out of nowhere. Haha

Oh my goodness Jacky, the same thing happened to me this Saturday, my sister called it “the blue screen of death” when it happened. Luckily I had Ben Okri for company and a cup of red bush tea…

Haha. I actually write all of my stuff on my phone. I don’t ever get to use my work computer for this stuff and I never got around to get myself my own.

I’m a touch typist, Jacqueline, so that’s at least a hundred and twenty words a minute. I begin a first draft on my iPad – that’s twenty words a minute, then revise on my computer. Even texting is a chore – five words a minute and lots of mistakes. I can only imagine how you must have suffered.

I type pretty fast too. Learnt to in school and honestly, it’s almost torture working on tablets or phones. I have new found respect for those who do it so often. My iPad is so underused as the case may be. Thank you my dear for comments 🙂

Oh boi! I think of this scenario all the time. Unfortunately, I don’t even have a laptop. I operate my blog from my tablet and God forbid anything happened to it. The other day at the bank, I threw a little fit when I thought it was stolen. I was already demanding to see their camera tapes before someone called out that there was a tab on the floor – if indeed it wasn’t dropped on the floor as a result of my outburst. Anyway I’m glad I found it and the lesson to us is to have various oulets for our blog. One certainly isn’t enough.

I love the last comment about your friend throwing a little fit when she (?) thought her (?) tablet was stolen. That sounds like me, I think I accused a room full of classmates of stealing my textbook once when it was right behind me. Oh well.

I can’t laugh. Oh my goodness! It is possible someone nicked it and then you raised alarm the sticky fingered human quickly dropped it on the floor. I am happy you recovered your tablet. Will check my mails. Thanks

I use my phone sometimes but it’s so small. Even my tablet is harder to post on than the computer!

I think it’s really useful being able to use these tools. I don’t even bother with the tablet, that is a complete lesson in patience.

Ugh, well that’s a bummer! Hope your old one put in it’s time and your new one is awesome! My old Toshiba laptop was 9 years old when I replaced it with my HP ENVY. I do enjoy posting from my phone, especially when traveling. I like the idea of keeping my blog updated even when on the go.. Have a Merry Christmas!!

It wasn’t funny Kathleen but I am truly learning how not to sweat the small stuff. I think I am going to practice the phone thing a bit more for the ease of when one is moving around (I think it’s really a good idea) Have a beautiful and Merry Christmas. Blessings.

YES! As a matter of fact, not too long ago. My cherished, loyal macbook pro died. Died, in the middle of writing a blog post. I googled different problem solving methods. Tried a few. Nothing worked. I used an old Ipad for a while..did not work so well. I got a cheap backup computer, but could barely see the colors in my photos, and it didn’t have enough memory for editing..lol..After almost giving up, I opened my macbook and vacuumed/wiped it out!! I’ve been spending a lot of time in the desert, and there was plenty of sand in there..After that it kind of worked. Yesterday I got a new, stronger battery charger, and now it works like when it was new! (I believe the sand caused some kind of short in there? It was very hot.) I sure appreciate that my computer works. Maybe it was a lesson in gratitude? LOL

You are right Maria. It is a lesson in gratitude. I wanted a Macbook, but I can’t afford it right away. These tools are really very useful to us and I am learning to appreciate them now. Mine died just like yours did. Right in the middle of work. Do have a Merry Christmas with your gorgeous angel 🙂

The same thing happened to me and I was forced to use my kindle. It got frustrated and took twice as long and I kindly asked to use my mother’s computer and you would never believe, it went bad as well. Now I am in extra hot trouble.
