In my younger days, I had two major crushes on two male actors.
The first actor was Captain Von Trapp of Sounds of Music.
I simply wanted to be the singing Maria – Julie Andrews, but I was just too young and after a while he started looking too old for me 😉
My second movie crush moved to James Bond.
OOOh! I had a crush on most of the gentlemen who played James: Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan. Not sure if it was the men or the character that I liked most.
I kinda liked Timothy Dalton and Daniel Craig but for some reason my huge crush went down several notches with these two and I am glad to realize that maturity has fizzled away the crushiness especially when my young brain finally assimilated the fact that it was not real life.
Wouldn’t have minded being a Bond girl just once (the one that gets to keep sleek Brosnan to herself 😉 and get to go on those scary adventures.
It would have been nice to say:
Call me Mrs. Bond, Jackie Bond *wink, wink*
The Daily Post prompt It Builds Character.
Tell us about a favorite character from film, theater, or literature, with whom you’d like to have a heart-to-heart. What would you talk about?

Jackie Bond! I love it…yes there is something abut the character James Bond that is very appealing.
We once had a dog named James Bond. Really. A friend of mine who was a fellow TA conned me into taking a puppy that she had “found” off of her hands….her official reason was that her five-year-old just loved the puppy, but due to her financial situation she had to give the kid a choice: they coud pay the $300 apartment pet-fee…or they could use the money for Christmas presents for him (the boy.) He chose the presents, and being free of puppy-chores. He told his mom te puppy’s name was “James–James Bond.” ok, to cut to the chase…I brought the pup home, my husband fell for him immediately, and James lived with us for the rest of his life, about 12 years. 🙂

How nice to have a James Bond in the house for 12 years. He sure has some appeal. Thank you Gradmama for putting a smile on my face this evening 🙂

my pleasure…James was an outside dog after he grew up, came in the house with the other dog on cold nights. He always seemed like a puppy, lots of nervous energy…all is life.

Flips script:
Golden Thumb: Well, well Jackie Bond. We meet again!
Bond: Unfortunately so!
Golden Thumb: Hope these restraints are not too tight (pulls rope to make it tighter, lowering table to the shark pool)
Bond: Not much (flinching)…..Mrs. Thumb, are you expecting me to talk?
Golden Thumb: Why No Mrs. Bond. I expect you to die (exits stage door left!)
My favourite bonds were Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan, though Daniel Craig is growing on me. But I’ve always wanted to be a Villain, M or Q, but never a bond girl. Bond girls all seemed so shallow..lol lol.
Love Christopher Plummer as well, he’s an awesome actor!

Oh yes Etta. You got right down to the T. Those Bond girls were quite shallow and let him slip away too easily 😉

I’ve crushed on Sean Connery forever. And he’s aged so gracefully, still sexy. I am a Daniel Craig fan. Oh, to be a Bond girl……

I know, I know 😉 Our Bond men have aged well.

Thanks for sharing this interesting article Jacqueline. Mentioning the names of the lead characters in the James movies, show that you love the movies as well, not only the handsome men.

Ok Mrs. Bond, Jackie Bond…how did that sound? I agree with you Cptn Von Trapp and Pierce Brosnan are dreamy! When I was really young I had a major crush on Davy Jones from The Monkees…we even saw them in concert and I remember screaming during the concert, Davy, Davy, Davy…HA! Ah memories…:-)

Hahahaha! “Jackie Bond” has a nice ring to it. XD
Captain Von Trapp was so good looking and that steely, aloof personality added to the attraction. Lol
I had a big crush on Omar Epps, after seeing the movie “Love and Basketball”. I wonder what we would talk about…

Captain Von Trapp was a handsome chap who could sing and Pierce Bosnan sought made James Bond more sensual. So I understand Jacqueline. I may be a bit kindergarten, hehe but old enough to remember these things.
