Hip,hip,hurray…Ronovan writes weekly haiku challenge.

An apt prompt for this week ‘birth and cheer.’ It was Ronovan’s birthday yesterday, though because of the time difference between US and UAE, I don’t get to see the prompt until the following day because we are ahead by at least 9 hours or more depending on which state, so I’ll still say ‘Happy birthday, to you Ronovan.’

I also celebrate with a dear friend of mine who has tried for going on 17 years now to have a child. At long last they are blessed with two beautiful boys on Sunday 🙂

Let’s pop a bottle of fizzy drink,
to wish some birthday cheers
to Ronovan, our own charming Haiku General.

To the cheer of her loved ones,
she gave birth to twins
after seventeen years of waiting and wanting.

Out of the silent breath

Blood work…Friday fiction in five sentences.

Blood, Vial, Analysis, Laboratory, Test, Medical

Felicia’s grip on the phone was so tight that anyone could see the outlined streak of the veins on her hand.

She stuttered in disbelief as she slowly sat down. Her legs had gone all weak at the knees.

Maybe you should come to the hospital Mrs. Vienna and talk to Dr. Patul. Would you like me to book a date?” The nurses droning voice continued at the other end.

Her mind whirred in tumult. How could the results come back negative? She felt so sure that Pete’s bloodwork was a mere formality. He would be a perfect match and donor for his twin brother Paul.

Now the result says the brothers are not twins, as a matter of fact, technically they are not brothers. What went wrong? She just couldn’t make sense of it all. This is all confusing…

Magic abounds…Ronovan writes weekly haiku challenge

I love the glitter ‘magic and glimmer’ that we are offered for this week’s Ronovan’s Haiku.

Twin, Sisters, Love, Girls, Blue Eyes, Beauty

The children’s laughter sounds magical
the glimmer of their glow sticks
twinkles in the bright rays of Sun

****

She watches them from the kitchen window
her eyes glimmer with tears
heart-filled with life’s wondrous magic that abounds

****

They were mere glimmers of yesterday’s hope
like dreams conjured from magic
gorgeous twins to love in a swoop.

In Pairs…Every day beautiful people 46

Sometimes, miracles come in pairs or even more.

Quite an interesting incident to go to the shops and run into several twins on the same day and in the same store.

I wondered if it was a “bring your twins shopping day,” but the cashier said that such a thing did not exist.

Out of the silent breath

Never leave me lonely on these shores

Where no one knows me

Where I stare at strange forms

Trying to find you somewhere there in their midst.
