Midnight Motivations and Musings # 90

Hurt! Are you hurting and have you let all the pain become defining factors in your life? How many of us have let hurt keep us down?

It’s natural for us to feel hurt or disappointed from failures and possibly withdraw into our shells, but the sad thing is that some take it that it’s the way their life is meant to be, thus they remain withdrawn or at best living their lives at half mast.

Remember that the entirety of your life is far bigger than one fall, so you must keep rising. Remember that odd circumstance could just be a detour that could always turn around.

Remember that those deliberate negative aims from others are just in a bid to keep you where they feel most comfortable ‘under their thumb.’

Ask yourself. Is that where you deserve to belong?

Next week, I’ll share a post on how to get past the pain and to live on purpose.

Vanderbilt’s Quest…Ronovan writes weekly haiku challenge.

Ron’s haiku prompt rein/quest’ for this week gave me some pause. It wasn’t a swift ride like you would think, but I enjoyed the scribbling and tearing of paper that filled my waste basket 😉

Dragon, Bone, Fantasy, Sunset, Mystical

It was a quest for the brave.
Vanderbilt tugged his steed’s rein,
and set off for the dragon’s lair.

The quest’s trail was precarious and slippery
he guided his horse cautiously
gripping the wet reins with firm hands.

The quest is successful, dragon is defeated
a happy Princess is rescued,
Vanderbilt holds the reins to her heart.

Tuesdays Trickles….My thinking corner # 21

Every Tuesday, I share snippets of thoughts that I call ‘My Thinking Corner.’

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple.

Each Tuesday, share your very short snippets of positive, inspiring, motivating, health, spiritual, writing advice, clips, posts etc, that can serve as a prop to motivate others and simply add my link to your post.

I call it my thinking corner because, I actually take out a bit of time just to think through things, encapsulate my thoughts as much as possible and detoxify my mind. It helps give me clarity of vision and might help you too.

It might work for you in a different way, but the idea is to get the positive thoughts flowing.

Brand me whole as only you can

Knows nothing but the fullness of you.

His Flanges Got Propped!…. A short story

Defeat

It’s been quite a grueling competition! Sebastian is determined to win the championship even if is by the skin of his teeth!

He has come far and this is it! The moment of his life and his dreams!

He could almost taste the victory and the fame at the end of it all.

His face would be splashed all over the papers and television. Instant celebrity status stamped on him as he turns into the toast of the town.

Endorsements would fly in from here and there. He could imagine his preening and the ladies cooing after him; his companionship sought by all. He could see it all! The pause to pose for silent brooding pictures for the paparazzi. The constant request for interviews. The frenetic social calendar. What a success it would be!

For just a split second, his wandering mind drifts off from the game at hand. In that split second, the ball comes sailing through the air and his delayed reaction causes him to over-reach. His legs fly out under him! He sails into the air, landing with such a heavy thud at an odd angle.

Pain pierces and radiates through his entire body. He struggles to rise but this legs crumble under him as the excruciating pain keeps him down.

The medics rush to attend to him and a quick examination is carried out.

Through the haze of the pain, a sober voice filters through;

“Well my young man, it appears you have popped a rib or two!” Said the Voice.

”You will be needing a FLANGIPROP  for support for several months or more.” ”Unfortunately you cannot continue with the game.” The droning voice continued as he administers on-site first aid.

He is quickly holstered on a stretcher whilst he writhes in pain and anger. This is not the way it is meant to end he argues in his mind.

The flashes of the camera keeps popping in his face as the paparazzi catch every wince of pain and misery that is etched on it.

The actual definition of Flange: An external or internal rib or rim which is used to add strength or to hold something in place.

The actual definition of Prop: An object placed against or under another to support it: anything that supports.
