Delightful Toppings…

Cherries on top are pretty and metaphorically speaking, I certainly love lots of cherry on top moments in my life 🙂

Sunset

A day draws to a close with a gorgeous Sunset that always reminds me that every sun that sets also promises a new dawn and instils a warm sense of peace inside me. I remember my mother always saying that when you let the Sun go down on your sense of unrest you wake up carrying over residues of anger.

Love sculpture

Open up your heart and don’t close your mind. Let the cherries of other people’s love and care decorate your life.

Dessert

Oh! My sweet desserts! I love such sweet talk 😉

Cupcakes

Have a cupcake and a pleasant weekend 🙂

Glowing fountain

May the fountain of your life keep glowing with grace and cheerful light on top.

You are my home…

Sweet husband of mine,

You touch me in the depths of my being
in ways that I can’t sufficiently express.

The communion of body, mind, and soul
experienced with you by my side
always makes me know that I’m home.

Saying that I love you is so paltry;
I adore you and would be lost without you.

Jacqueline writes from her heart on passion, pain, suffering, loss and LIFE. I have been incredibly moved by her poetry and I know I will return to “Out of the Silent Breath” again and again.

Up close – The Daily Post Photo Challenge

When I saw The Daily Post Photo Challenge prompt for ‘details’ I wondered for a few seconds where I was going to find something with details and almost decided not to bother with it, but my curious mind decided to idle through my photos and I must say that I surprised myself when I found several photos that seem to fit the bill.

Peace Be Still

Just wait it out

Let’s look up – Daily Post Photo Challenge

Who know’s, we might catch a rainbow when we look up.

For today’s Daily post challenge, we are asked to turn our face upwards and hopefully we don’t only see what’s happening above us, but we allow the beauty of what we see to permeate and warm our hearts.

Piercing the darkness…

Clouds of darkness
hang heavily over the land
its weight keeps the dwellers down
and blinds their vision,
causing them to stumble, to fall
and to lose their way.

…But if you and I agree
to light our little wicks together,
our combined lights will shine so bright,
it will evaporate the dark clouds
and we would find our path
through this darkness, that pervades our land.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it: John 1:5

Hot Passion…

They stole glances at each other
a lump formed in her throat
as she admired his rippling muscles
and warmth pooled in her belly
when he winked at her.

Their love was growing wild
on forbidden ground,
even when they knew that they should be apart
She, a freeborn daughter of the manor
He, a slave from the other side of the Sea.

Opposites – The Daily Post Photo Challenge.

I tried to find opposites and initially felt like I was looking for a needle in a haystack digging through photos, but to my surprise, I think I managed to scrounge up several that would fit the bill.

When they put up the fences…

When they put up the fences
may our feet be as fleet as gazelle
that we outrun their barbed enclaves
may our wings spread wide
that we soar high to tips of the highest trees
breaching the boundaries of caged birds
whose wings are clipped
but their voices continue to sing.

When they put up the fences
will they stay rested behind their glass towers
or will they venture to other people’s poor spaces
and plant their feet in arrogant superiority
whilst they tear the owners asunder?
Forgetting that he who brings an insect infested log into his abode
invites the lizard to feast
and may not have rest.

When they put up their fences
tell me
Would that really make any sense?
What manner of divisions shall we see?
Would that really be a worthwhile defense?
or will it trigger room for more offense?
When they put up their fences,
then what? I’m in suspense.

Fences
