Why You Need To Audit Your Blog
So, you are wondering what the next goals for your blog are and where to start from? You ran the blogging race through last year and would love to see some distinctive growth this year. Well, let’s take it from the top, you need to audit your blog.
Like every business, to run a successful blog requires auditing and doctoring your blog periodically.
Based on your desired goals, the process of auditing your blog effectively could be simple or intensive.
Looking at what you achieved over the past year no matter how big or small helps you to make a concise plan on the way forward for your blog.
If you don’t know where you’ve been, how are you going to know precisely where you are heading to?
Having a blanket wish of wanting your website to grow popular or hoping that you would have a better blogging year without taking into account previous fails, successes and the reasons for those results is like searching for the proverbial needle in a haystack.
You are bound to repeat the same mistakes. Find the faults and fix them.
A good old-fashioned notepad and pen, word editor or Google spreadsheet would do. Read More…
What a timely post. I am one week away from completing my 52 weeks journey with the letter W and I was thinking that as my Wednesdays will now be clear, what should I do.

Glad to know that you find it worthwhile. Now and again, I tweak things around because there’s always something different to try. Have fun 🙂

Great points here but I have never given any thought to auditing my blog. I suppose that’s because I don’t really have any goals for my blog. I write whatever interests me and anyone who wishes to join that flight of fancy is more than welcome to come along for the ride. I appreciate each and every one of you who reads my stuff and I respond to all comments but as a follower you weren’t part of any well planned outreach effort. I’m far too lazy for all of that. To all of you who do have goals and diligently work toward them, I commend your effort and dedication. Blog on.

I audit my blog frequently. I make sure my images still exist and I change some of them. I go over my writing to see how I can improve. I compare what I wrote 2 years ago to what I write now. I check the stats to see where I stand. Good idea Jacqueline. We need to keep our blogs fresh and interesting.
