I Like Your Way Of Thinking These Days…

1452355448166[1]

Don’t you think that it’s rather late in the day to start asking me what the worst possible situation to my day could be, seeing that your prompt arrives at my part of the World at past 5pm in the evening, when it has basically missed out on a whole lot of the day’s exciting ups, downs and mundane stuff.

So, since I am not in the mood to conjure up a crystal ball and start imagining all sorts of horrendous stuff, I will by-pass the worst case scenario and quickly meander to the best scenario which I have on the tip of my fingers.

The best scenario dear WordPress prompt my good friend, would be to get an alert on my email box, from one of those brilliant agents/publishers who is writing a letter to court my prolific fingers in literary wedlock, asking very humbly if they could be tied to my words for a lifetime and have me hammer out excellent sentences to their hearts delight and my bank accounts content.

I am not going to look a gift horse in the mouth since you’ve been asking and I have been dropping hints to let you know the things that I want. 1. That fabulous supersonic camera that I am coveting and 2. A mouth-watering book deal, do hurry up and deliver my wishes quickly.

Now, no more asking me about bad things anymore, because I refuse to dwell on those.

Let me bid you goodnight and go and have a lovely dream about these good things coming soon.

The Daily Post prompt Worst Case Scenario

Of all the awful possibilities, what’s the worst possible thing that could happen to you today? Now, what about the best?

  1. I’m all for positive thinking as long as it doesn’t veer into magical thinking, which is how I hear it expressed sometimes. I think it’s as important to keep it real, as it is to have a positive attitude. I am very positive about the very realistic possibility of reading a book written by Jacqueline Obiykocha in the not too distant future. Not because the opportunity will fall out of the sky but because of your dedication, talent, and hard work. You go girl!;-)

  2. Oh! Brilliant! And such a good commentary on what we need to be focusing on this year. Not precluding the reality of what needs to be done, but the attitude in which to accomplish it! (Hope you’re sleeping well as I type this…)

      1. Yes, and the opposite is also true. Positivity breeds more positivity. It can be habit forming, not ignoring negative events. Indeed, accepting them, but then moving on to find the opportunities presented.

  3. With the way my mind works, the worst thing that can happen is that the best thing can happen because the universe balances itself out so that would mean the worst thing to happen is barreling down towards me, I just don’t know exactly when or where.

And running the possible scenarios that could possibly happen within the realm of physics out would take more than a day to articulate and then I am on to the possibilities for that day. :0

  4. I think it more than apparent you deserve the opportunity! And yes I truly believe, if we but knock, the door will open… Just make sure you get the right door 🙂

  5. The worst thing that could have happened to me today is that I didn’t wake up. The best thing that happened to me today is that I did. I also am with you on the book deal. You deserve it.

  6. I love the way you turned that prompt around, Jacqueline. I admire how you choose to dwell on the positive side of things, rather than the negative. As you and I both know, the more a person dwells on the negative situations, the more of the same he or she attracts to them. Personally, I would rather attract more positive situations. Wouldn’t you? 🙂
