His Memories…

Memories, Sad, Man, Deep Thoughts

His memories are a private hell.

Mistakes made in a jiffy taunt him.

He should have walked away,

and

let her live.

Haunted!…

His wife’s cool hands on his shoulders halted Sanders from further destruction as he took another swing at the sculpture with his club.

He couldn’t count the number of times the sculpture taunted him, taking on fiendish proportions in a nightmare until he smashed it to pieces and then made a new one from scratch, once again resembling his tomboyish, young sister with her sweet looking face.

No matter what everyone said, no matter that his mother never openly expressed her blame, he held himself responsible.

What if he always wondered?

What if he had accompanied her to the cinema that fateful night many years ago as their mother had suggested?

Would she be alive now? Would that have deterred the monster who kidnapped her, that by the time her body was found, she was desecrated in ways beyond words?

Sanders was perpetually haunted by these thoughts and it was worse that the monster was still out there.

Unknown and roaming free.

She is amazing at describing love and life in her poems. She creates such beautiful images with her words. Truly, she is a talented writer and I’m so excited to have her poetry book and to continue reading through it.

Out of the silent breath

Flayed heart…

Always earnest, you’re to say sorry,
but your blood drawn flaying words
are deeply engraved and
fail to be erased from a mind
that’s no longer blissfully blank
nor free of such vituperations.

Out of the silent breath

Midnight Motivations and Musings # 82

How do you feel when you stay on course with those thing’s that you set out to do?

Naturally we feel a wholesome satisfaction, elation and motivated.

Good results inspire us to keep striving for repeats while negative results drag us down.

We are imperfect and sometimes we fall short in focusing on those things that are best for us, but the important thing is not to let our focus deplete to such an extent that we have to start anew each time.

Discipline builds and becomes part of one’s character.

Out of the silent breath

Never leave me lonely on these shores

Where no one knows me

Where I stare at strange forms

Trying to find you somewhere there in their midst.

The days in our lives…

The days in our lives are too short,

To live the precious hours on a slow lane of regret.

Most of us pray to live to a ripe old age,

but as most of us know,

It sometimes does not work out the way we plan it.

Life happens!

A brief analysis of your age in days,

Would make you realize that indeed,

We are all impoverished!

An Eighty year old has a total of 29,200 days on Earth

A Ninety year old has 32,850 days on Earth

A Lucky 100 year old person has 36,500 days on Earth

I chose to write in figures,

So that the length in writing,

Does not deceive your eyes,

Into believing, that you have all the time.

No! You don’t!

Now get up!

And make each day count,

No matter how small.
