Rononvan's Weekly Haiku Challenge

Mindset – Ronovan writes weekly haiku challenge.

This week’s haiku prompt ‘Change & Mind,’ made me think of myself and how my mind seems clogged these days with tons of stuff that I need to do. Our mind is our powerhouse and every change we crave to achieve stems from it. Like is popularly said, change your mind and you change your life.

Our mind is our powerhouse and every change we crave to achieve stems from it. Like is popularly said, change your mind and you change your life.

I have a lot on my mind

that I must attend to,

to achieve the changes that I want.

**

A closed mind

gives little room

for any changes.

**

When you change your myopic mindset

you are open to affirmations

that will ultimately change your life

My soul…Ronovan writes weekly haiku challenge.

I love the pair of words ‘hope & up,’ that we got for this week’s prompt. Thank you Ronovan.

Each waking moment the word of God

fills up my hungry soul

with sufficient hope for a better tomorrow.

Sleek Tongue – Ronovan writes weekly haiku challenge.

What an interesting pair of words we are given this week for Ronovan’s haiku. Sleek & Sizzle makes me want to say, shizzle ma nizzle 😉

Inciting words rolled off his sleek tongue
that my nerves sizzled in annoyance
at his attempt to sell his snake-oil.

I’m amazed at the sleek salesman audacity
even with a reputation that sizzles
he convinces people with his wicked intentions.

Delicious Pie – Ronovan writes weekly haiku challenge.

This week’s haiku prompt from Ronovan threw me for six for a couple of minutes. I had no idea what to do with pie & dust. I could only think eating it the pie with sprinkles of sweet stuff, then my thought trail took another bend.

Bits of pie fell to the ground

and got covered in dust,

the ants didn’t mind; it was delicious!

Blooming – Ronovan writes weekly haiku challenge.

I like Ronovan’s cheerful prompt ‘Sing & Flower,’ for this week. We really need as much cheer as possible.

Jacqueline writes from her heart on passion, pain, suffering, loss and LIFE. I have been incredibly moved by her poetry and I know I will return to “Out of the Silent Breath” again and again.

Magical Time – Ronovan writers weekly haiku challenge.

Once I saw the prompt for Ronovan’s weekly haiku challenge ‘time and grow,’ my thought went to my children who are galloping up so fast before my eye’s that sometimes it gives me mixed feelings to watch them become more independent each day, knowing that soon they will be full-fledged adults and fly my coop.

Ah! I love these blessings of mine with every breath that I have.

Dazzling and Scorching – Ronovan writes weekly haiku challenge

Sun[1]

You are certainly moving with the times Ronovan by giving us a prompt ‘Dazzle & Sky’ that aptly matches the blazing Sun that comes out so early these days and the heat is not mild by any means. The photo I used for the prompt was taken this morning around 5.00 a.m. when I woke up.

Recently, as early as 4:30 a.m.

the Sun rises, rays dazzle and glow

in the Middle-Eastern sky.

 😎😎

It’s brilliance warms you up

if you can catch an early walk

under the dazzling clear sky

♨♨

When you miss the hour

that the Sun gently embraces the sky

you’ll face dazzling, scorching heat.

Ronovan, thank you for this week’s prompt ‘Summer and fun.’ You are totally in tune with my state of mind.

Hip,hip,hurray…Ronovan writes weekly haiku challenge.

An apt prompt for this week ‘birth and cheer.’ It was Ronovan’s birthday yesterday, though because of the time difference between US and UAE, I don’t get to see the prompt until the following day because we are ahead by at least 9 hours or more depending on which state, so I’ll still say ‘Happy birthday, to you Ronovan.’

I also celebrate with a dear friend of mine who has tried for going on 17 years now to have a child. At long last they are blessed with two beautiful boys on Sunday 🙂

Let’s pop a bottle of fizzy drink,
to wish some birthday cheers
to Ronovan, our own charming Haiku General.

To the cheer of her loved ones,
she gave birth to twins
after seventeen years of waiting and wanting.

Wind of life…Ronovan writes weekly haiku challenge.

I totally enjoyed this week’s haiku prompt ‘fresh wind’ from Ronovan, so I tried my hand on three 🙂
