It’s just an old, odd piece of wood that I saw while taking a walk. It could be classified as dead and rubbish but I had this pull to pick it up. I like to work with my hands on wood or pottery. It has a way of calming my mind.

An image of a polished piece, with a carving, popped into my head, but I resisted and continued with my walk.

I felt that it would just lie in the pile of things that are eyeing me to do them, just like my basket of unfinished knitting and I decided this year to stop all the ‘start and not finishing’ projects as much as possible.

Now, for the past two days, the image meant for the wood has been taunting me that I wonder if I should go and find that piece of wood?

A cool and fun looking handbag I must say, but since the price wasn’t cool enough for me, I walked away and ignored the ‘psst, hey buy me,’ that the pink purse uttered from sealed zips 😉

What I find particularly interesting about this photo is that in trying to capture the traffic and lights outside, my reflection and other people in the room is caught as well. Don’t ask me how it occurred. I’ve no idea, I guess it’s all due to the lighting.

Echos Of My Neighbourhood

Sail With Me – Echoes of My Neighbourhood

My Muse chose to take me to the harbour for a quiet time on Saturday morning. With my laptop, notepad and camera, I tapped away, sipping my warm latte and enjoying the gentle breeze from the Gulf.

I am working on a story that involves a harbour scene and I needed to revitalize my mind. Thankfully, there are several harbours around here and if you want a bit of calm, it’s best to go a bit early in the day before everybody troops in.

It’s a lovely place to spend a couple of hours and there’s something about the gentle sea breeze that kindled my imagination made my words flow faster.

Pamela takes us on a scenic walk in her neighbourhood before Hurricane Matthew and I think I’m going to hold Lady Lee responsible for planting hungry ideas in my head with her sumptuous looking pot of curry.

On Thursdays, I share pictures about ‘Echos of my Neighbourhood.

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple and you can find out more about it through this link.

It’s been a breezy busy week filled with this and that, that I found myself taking most of my photos either early in the morning or in the evening after the day’s runaround.

Here are several snips and snaps of my neighbourhood caught within the week.

Lady Lee offers you something to smile about.

Rononvan's Weekly Haiku Challenge

All Fall Down…Ronovan Writes Weekly Haiku Challenge

Ronovan gives us a pair of haiku prompts ‘ Home & Leaves,’ that fall into the seasons’ theme. Here’s my take on it.

Nothing satisfies me like a beautiful evening,

seated at home sipping tea;

watching the leaves wave in the wind.

picsart_09-27-01-59-181

Now the leaves all come falling down,

tapestry in rustic brown mounds;

nature decorating the yards of many homes.

Homeowners may sometimes feel tired and grumpy,

having to gather endless heaps

of leaves, that continue to fall down.

The View From 33rd Floor – Echoes of my neighbourhood.

On Thursdays, I share pictures about ‘Echos of my Neighbourhood.

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple and you can find out more about it through this link.

These photos were taken on Monday from the 33rd floor of the office where I attended a meeting. The view is fantastic and I spent the time clicking on my camera while waiting for my hostess to come. It also gave me time to unwind from my annoying encounter with a dodgy taxi driver.

Lady Lee sends you some delicious platters from the Philippines, some homegrown grapes and fresh apples.  I honestly envy people who have grounds to plant their own fruits and vegetables.

Roos walkabouts’ are certainly rewarding with those delicious looking pumpkins, I smell Halloween 🙂

So, how’s your neighbourhood doing right now?
