Jacqueline, the face behind acookingpotandtwistedtales, is a passionate Nigerian woman.
I am a gregarious, avid reader, who loves writing and telling stories.
In a short sentence, I am a life enthusiast.
I am a wordsmith (on the cusp of authorship, in my mind at least). I am an entrepreneur, an advocate of truth and moral values, a people’s person, a motivator and a bi-linguist (French/English) I am also attempting to pick as many languages as I can, even just in their smattering forms.
I am the spouse of an interesting and intelligent gentleman who makes each day in my life spontaneous and devoid of boredom.
I am a mother of children who keep all my faculties engaged (physical and non-physical).
So this is me, an avid reader (not mind reader, unfortunately), an everyday woman with a passion for life and family.
I love to sing in my wobbly voice (who cares), to dance and strut my stuff and to laugh heartily. I love fitness and good nutrition when I can encourage my other lazy self to lace on her training shoes and not to eat all the cake.
I am still a child of Evolution, with varied interests ranging from pottery, painting, photography and gazillion stuff that I would like to try out.
I started blogging when I got tired of keeping my thoughts penciled in my journals (I still pencil though). It serves as a voice to some internal thoughts and turmoils. I think in clarity, I recuperate and I exhale when I write. It is therapeutic for me.
I see a story in everything, humorous, serious, life matters, beauty, child rearing or anything that inspires me that we might have in common as humans.
So here I am, exhaling after a long time of staying under water. In my little space here in blogland, I will be sharing with you, my tales, my poems, my motivational and mundane thoughts, my social observations and a potpourri of things that I dwell on.
If I blog successfully throughout the next year, I would have cultivated the discipline of settling down to write and ramble. I would (hopefully) have finished the drafts of the three novels that I am working on.
Indeed, it would be good to arrive at those goals, but I believe that the trip through blogging would be a whole lot of fun.
Having recently moved to Dubai with my family, I still wake up sometimes with half of my brain back in Houston where we moved from (after the big migration from Nigeria).
We are still working on adapting to our new environment which is cultures apart from our abode in the US where we had a couple of friendly squirrels darting across my front lawn whilst scrambling up a tree.
I look forward to meeting and interacting with other members of this community.
Yours in sincerity,
Jacqueline.
Today is 29th of April, 2016: LIFE IS A CONTINUUM and as about pages go, so far my blogging journey has been a fruitful one. One of the targets that I set for myself which is to get my books published has been accomplished with the successful publishing of My Poetry Book “Out of the silent breath.”
Nothing gives one a sense of well-being like realizing your dreams. This is just the beginning and I continue to trudge on with the others.
You can support me by buying my book which is available on Amazon and Smashwords.

A gift to celebrate your blog.
Enjoy 🙂
Wish you a happy year ahead.

So Jacqueline, I wanted to stop in and just let you know that I really do find enjoyment here on your site. I don’t always comment but I am strongly drawn and always find my visits here to be rewarding. I really like the concept of the storytelling collaboration. I’m watching it with interest to see how it goes… (I couldn’t quite get a feel for how it’ll all turn out!) Once I’ve got my grips on it I’ll likely attempt to jump in and add on 🙂
Anyway, you have been by my blog yet today so you haven’t noticed but I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger award. At the time I put you on the list you had not yet received it. Now I see you have. But still, you remain versatile and charming and wise and I want to acknowledge that to you and share you with my own minions.
I know you know where to find it, but here’s the link anyway:
I’m a Versatile Blogger!

To be honest, simply seeing you like something on my blog brings me great joy. That I, someone with so much work still yet to be done, has something to offer someone so wise, brilliant, kind and talented. You’re little face is a big reward for me. So please keep coming. I fear I’ve become dependant on you. LOL. I might panic if you were to disappear! Seriously, though, I really do so appreciate all of the ways that you have added to my world!

Memee your words make me smile in gladness. I have no plans of running off. Not anytime soon, so you will be seeing me around as often as possible. Have a beautiful weekend 🙂

I thought of you today when I came across a video on TED. I thought you might find it interesting since you are from Nigeria originally. I’m not sure if this will automatically convert to a link or if I would have to code it, which I don’t know how yet, but if it doesn’t, you can just copy and paste the link. http://www.ted.com/talks/achenyo_idachaba_how_i_turned_a_deadly_plant_into_a_thriving_business?utm_source=newsletter_weekly_2016-01-23&utm_campaign=newsletter_weekly&utm_medium=email&utm_content=talk_of_the_week_button

Wow! What a beautiful comment box invite. I hope my words will indeed decorate your heart. I popped over from the Reader having noted your poem about being free, which I believe Etta D showcased. I loved your words and enjoyed your performance of it, which led to me exploring a little further and I very much like what I’ve seen so far. You seem to be a busy busy lady just from your life responsibilities, your ambition/goals (3 novels?) and the amount of posts made on your blog. Congratulations with what you have achieved so far. May you continue to entertain, inspire and touch people’s hearts through your words. I recognise your picture, so know that I’ve bumped into you now and then when I’ve left comments on other pages but this is the first time I’ve “met” you – so glad I discovered your blog.

Lady Cee, I am happy to meet you in this place. Thank you for your very encouraging and kind words. It makes all the effort worthwhile when you meet someone who appreciates the efforts. Some days, it’s a challenge, but somehow, I find the grace to do what I do and I keep believing that it will end with praise. Blogging has led me to many beautiful souls out there and it’s a wonderful experience. Have a beautiful week ahead and blessings. Jacqueline.
