About Me

20140111_102305

Jacqueline, the face behind acookingpotandtwistedtales, is a passionate Nigerian woman.

I am a gregarious, avid reader, who loves writing and telling stories.

In a short sentence, I am a life enthusiast.

I am a wordsmith (on the cusp of authorship, in my mind at least). I am an entrepreneur, an advocate of truth and moral values, a people’s person, a motivator and a bi-linguist (French/English) I am also attempting to pick as many languages as I can, even just in their smattering forms.

I am the spouse of an interesting and intelligent gentleman who makes each day in my life spontaneous and devoid of boredom.

I am a mother of children who keep all my faculties engaged (physical and non-physical).

So this is me, an avid reader (not mind reader, unfortunately), an everyday woman with a passion for life and family.

I love to sing in my wobbly voice (who cares), to dance and strut my stuff and to laugh heartily. I love fitness and good nutrition when I can encourage my other lazy self to lace on her training shoes and not to eat all the cake.

I am still a child of Evolution, with varied interests ranging from pottery, painting, photography and gazillion stuff that I would like to try out.

I started blogging when I got tired of keeping my thoughts penciled in my journals (I still pencil though). It serves as a voice to some internal thoughts and turmoils. I think in clarity, I recuperate and I exhale when I write. It is therapeutic for me.

I see a story in everything, humorous, serious, life matters, beauty, child rearing or anything that inspires me that we might have in common as humans.

So here I am, exhaling after a long time of staying under water. In my little space here in blogland, I will be sharing with you, my tales, my poems, my motivational and mundane thoughts, my social observations and a potpourri of things that I dwell on.

If I blog successfully throughout the next year, I would have cultivated the discipline of settling down to write and ramble. I would (hopefully) have finished the drafts of the three novels that I am working on.

Indeed, it would be good to arrive at those goals, but I believe that the trip through blogging would be a whole lot of fun.

Having recently moved to Dubai with my family, I still wake up sometimes with half of my brain back in Houston where we moved from (after the big migration from Nigeria).

We are still working on adapting to our new environment which is cultures apart from our abode in the US where we had a couple of friendly squirrels darting across my front lawn whilst scrambling up a tree.

I look forward to meeting and interacting with other members of this community.

Yours in sincerity,

Jacqueline.

Today is 29th of April, 2016: LIFE IS A CONTINUUM and as about pages go, so far my blogging journey has been a fruitful one. One of the targets that I set for myself which is to get my books published has been accomplished with the successful publishing of My Poetry Book “Out of the silent breath.”

Nothing gives one a sense of well-being like realizing your dreams. This is just the beginning and I continue to trudge on with the others.

You can support me by buying my book which is available on Amazon and Smashwords.

  2. Good one. You are an interesting and fun person to know. Knowing that you are not an average woman is nourishing too.

But please do not misinterpret my usage of “average woman” in the sense here as being a male chauvinist.

    1. Thank you Chris for that compliment. I will not presume so. I am never in a haste to judge a person. I wait until I have really interacted with them, then I will make an informed opinion. Once again, thank you for taking your time to read my article. Regards.

  3. Hi, Jacqueline, Just checking in with you today and saw your challenge . I wrote a paragraph with no adjectives but have no idea how to do a pingback, so I guess I’m out? I’ll keep the page in my drafts, should I figure it all out. Sorry……

  4. I managed to repost the challenge , then began to add in your link, but when I tried to post the paragraph something went wrong. Tried again and then a third time but all that ended up being posted was the original challenge. Sorry. Writing a new book, so I’ll probably go back to my regular weekly posts in August. Take care. 7. Thank you for finding me, enjoying my visit and following me. Life presents so many topics and to start and keep a blog shares those things you see, the tales you create and beauty of life with the masses. I’m glad you had the courage and look forward to more creations. Peace and blessings, Kim

I loved reading this. You are such a nice person and an intellectual. Your writing has a distinct style.
