When I saw the haiku prompt ‘twist & shout’ I first thought of dancing, then another seed of thought planted itself in my mind and I went with it.
There’s no need to shout,
or getting your panties in a twist.
You got it all wrong!

The value of the half truth is that it can validate the opinions of two people even though they are different.

Hmm! That’s true when you think of it.

It never occurred to me. What a great observation! Now will pay attention as to which half I got a hold of

Me too! I’d prefer knowing which end of the truth I got.

So true Jacqueline. Much gossip is based on a half truth and half falsehood. The thing is, the two types become so intertwined that the truth part bears no relevance to the listener.
Great use of this prompt and as someone has already said, great observation!
Thanks for sharing.

It’s always interesting how people would rather buy into falsehoods and when the lie is repeated often enough, the truth becomes unrecognizable.

You really nailed it! A half truth can do more damage than an outright lie!

Totally. I’d rather know the truth and settle with it. Lies breed damage and bitterness.

You penned it humorously…may be people love these half truths like gossips as it’s easier to digest for them

Come to think of that, you are so right. They don’t want to task themselves into thinking too much.
