Mundane Monday challenge is created to find beauty in almost everything.
The challenge is simple : find beauty in everyday mundane things, capture the beauty and upload the photographs.
I woke up this morning and the first thought I had on my mind was to drink some water.
That got me thinking a lot about water. An essential need of human life. Features in every ramification of our lives.
Have you noticed that when you are thirsty for water, no other drink can quench that thirst?
It also takes my mind to the fact where most of us take clean water to drink for granted, that there are places on Earth where people have to walk for miles to find clean water to drink.
Below is my first just published Poetry Book “Out of the silent breath” which is available on Amazon and Smashwords.
When you buy my book, you support me in an invaluable manner.

She is amazing at describing love and life in her poems. She creates such beautiful images with her words. Truly, she is a talented writer and I’m so excited to have her poetry book and to continue reading through it.

Water, without we would cease to exist yet many of us take it for granted.

Without water there’s no life and yet it’s so trivial to us.

Yeah, it’s sad. We don’t consider it until for whatever reason we can’t use it. Recently one of our hospitals found that they have Legionnaires in their system so patients can only drink bottled water and some patients cannot shower or bath in the water until the issue is resolved.

Hmm, that must have been irksome for them and at that point they get to appreciate such simple gift of water.

Hi Jackie,
I shook my head as I read this post for two reason. 1. In agreement. 2. To suppress my guilt at not drinking enough water.
I just took a swig from the botttle on my desk. Cheers! 😀

Absolutely. We are indeed fortunate. Not mundane for many millions.

Indeed we are, some of the things considered trivial by some are yearned for by others. 🙂

Totally true, but things like water should be mundane to everyone.

I agree. Access to clean water should be like a basic right and not a privilege.

A friend in Malawi shocked me with stories about getting water to her Village. You said it, we take so very much for granted.

Before a borehole was dug in my grandma’s village, anytime we visited her, I used to go to fetch water miles away carrying a keg on my head.

We got so caught up chatting, I failed to mention how thankful I am where I live now to drink water from the faucet in the kitchen (in a spill proof container, of course :D). Having lived in areas with the worst-tasting water in the continental U.S. this is a delight I relish daily – between 60 – 80 oz every day 😉 I honestly feel better about the area when I encounter street people daily – at least they have easy access to fresh drinking water.

That’s certainly a blessing Roo. Nothing like having every day people around you and ability to drink when you want. It might seem simple but when we think of the alternative we realize how huge it is.
