Dear Mister,
what were you thinking
when you sold your land
for 70 shillings and went
to town to live the good life,
only to return as a servant
to the man who purchased your land?

Outstanding poem. I guess this poor man’s situation is like that of the Prodigal son but without the happy ending.

Thank you, Deborah. This was written based on an uncle of mine who never listens to counsel and always makes expensive mistakes.

A very important thought regarding making plans for the future. Much like the Prodigal Son, but the Prodigal Son had a faithful Father to whom he turned.

Truly when we fail to plan we plan to fail and will have ourselves to blame. Thank God for God in our lives.

Written from the experience of someone I know. He refused to listen to advice, now he’s living with regret.
