Echos Of My Neighbourhood

Mixed Glimpse of My Neighbourhood. Lagos & Dubai

I went visiting home – Naija several days ago. It was a trip of mixed feelings. I was happy to see home and family but not too happy with the slow progression of things back home. The government just hasn’t served its people well.

Well, all is well that ends well. It was a good trip and I traveled back to base in Dubai, jumping right back into the bus(y)ness of life.

Lady Lee’s all set off to the Philippines – another country on my list. I know she’ll bring back loads to see 🙂

If you would like to show us your neighbourhood, the challenge is quite simple and you can find out more about it through this link.

  1. Good to see the photos of Naija, reminds me of Ghana. Yes, the slowness of progress needs correction and to do that a new mindset of fairness and honesty as well as belief and trust in each other is what we ought to aim for, act on and achieve. Dubai photos look great too, so I shall take the journeys but vicariously through your post until I can make it in person. Yipee to your hubby for creating ‘your going out quality time’. Wasn’t the film so funny in many parts though?

    1. I loved that film. Funny and sweet in many ways. Yes indeed I wish something could be done about the slowness. It’s just not right that a Continent (Africa) that has been blessed with so much material resources, yet children of its various nations continue to suffer due to poor leadership. On the other hand, I think going away occasionally is good for couples 😉

  2. Jackie,
I loved the necklaces you showed in your photos – from Naija.
We travelers are not sure any more where home is – is it in the country that nourishes us or the country that calls us back on all occasions ?
