I have a sweet tooth, tempted by enchanting morsels
of cakes, ice-creams, and chocolate goodies
many years gone by, many bargains made and lost
determined sometimes I’ve been to cut my dalliance
with these sugar coated seducers
yet, once they whisper their syrupy invitation
deliberately sending a float of sweet aroma to my nostrils
all the admonishment and advice
that’s been given to Will Power
is lost in the puff of cotton candy
I take a nibble, then another and another, and another
Oops! Only crumbs are left behind;
while shameless Will Power hides his head in shame.

What a novel way to describe my temptation – oh, it is yours too?

My will power is similarly poor at resisting sweet treats. So much for New Year’s resolutions.

That guy, Will Power, is never around when you need him.
