When I was twenty, I thought thirty was old,
then I became thirty and it wasn’t so bad.
Lo Presto! Forty came calling and looks good on me,
that now I realize fifty isn’t old at all.
I realized that age flies and are only numbers when you count,
‘cos these numbers don’t depict the essence of who you are
and the miles you’ve walked in life.
I’ll embrace fifty when it does come round
with grace and a lot of gratitude
for to age is a blessing
that many don’t live to see.

I’ve been blessed to count beyond fifty and age is nothing but a number .I appreciate the wisdom aging brings. I am blessed to be among the living. I always say, if I can no longer count, I am not around. Enjoyed the post and imagery.

I would never have guessed. Aging does bring wisdom and I consider it a huge blessing indeed.

I agree I will be forty in two weeks and instead of being on pins and needles as was at 3o. I feel a thrill of excitement at what the next year will bring. Oh, and congrats on the book love the cover!

It’s all about having a young spirit. My Ma thinks she is ready for a care home and she is only 55!

Precisely the spirit. NO! She’s way too young.

Don’t worry I keep reminding her. She is a babe and I think she needs to see herself the way others see her and she could have the world -well apart of it. Something to make her happy 🙂

Yes you should keep doing that. She’s really a babe.

Hi Jackie,
What is age when one is loved, at peace, healthy and happy? Age only serves as reminder of God’s grace and faithfulness, that one is alive to enjoy this life.
I’ll admit that there are times when one worries about getting older especilayy when they are yet to achieve certain goals. Still age must be celebrated, regardless of the grey hairs. Indeed, it is a blessing. 😀

That’s the best way to look at it. (Of course, I have to say that because I’ll be fifty myself in about six months.)

My next big milestone birthday will be fifty and though it is some way off I am a bit frightened. I think it will be OK as long as I have achieved my objectives by the time I am fifty. I worry about being less attractive though as I still look very young and my appearance is important to me. I still don’t have to dye my hair or wear reading glasses but that may change when I hit 50. You look very young not like you are about to turn 50 at all.
